Method for forming a polyethylene alumina nanocomposite coating
A method for forming a polyethylene and alumina nanocomposite coating on a substrate is described. The method may use microparticles of UHMWPE with nanoparticles of alumina to form a powder mixture, which is then applied to a heated steel substrate to form the nanocomposite coating. The nanocomposite coating may have a Vickers hardness of 10.5-12.5 HV.
Reflective paint for cryogenic applications
A reflective paint's liquid mixture includes 42.4-71.3 weight percent of a liquid solvent, 14.4-28.3 weight percent of a binder fully dissolved in the liquid solvent, and 13.8-29.3 weight percent of light scattering particles that are insoluble in the liquid solvent and are of a size ranging from 100 nanometers to 200 nanometers. The binder is selected from potassium bromide, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium bromide, cesium chloride, and rubidium chloride. The light scattering particles are selected from hafnium oxide and yttrium oxide. The reflective paint is particularly useful as a surface coating for a variety of structures that must support cryogenic temperatures. It can be used in any application to act as a broadband reflector of the Sun's radiation in the wavelength band from approximately 0.21 microns to 9 microns and beyond.
HIGH PERFORMANCE, RAPID CURE COATINGS
Aqueous coating compositions as well as methods of using thereof are described. The coating compositions can be a two-part aqueous coating composition. The first coating component can comprise one or more polymers and the second coating component can comprise a catalyst such as phosphoric acid. The first coating component and the second coating component can be provided as separate aqueous compositions. The first coating component and a second coating component that can be co-applied (e.g., simultaneously or sequentially) to a surface form a rapid set coating.
Coating compositions comprising ground natural calcium carbonate (GCC)
The present invention relates to a coating composition comprising at least one binder and at least one ground natural calcium carbonate material. The invention further relates to the use of at least one ground natural calcium carbonate material in a coating composition comprising at least one binder as well as to an article that is coated with such a coating composition and a paint comprising such a coating composition.
Metal powder sintering paste and method of producing the same, and method of producing conductive material
There is a problem that when a silver powder sintering paste that is substantially free from resin is used, an organic solvent used as a dispersion medium bleeds, which results in contamination and wire bonding defects. In order to solve the problem, provided is a metal powder sintering paste that contains, as a principal component, silver particles having an average particle diameter (a median diameter) of 0.3 μm to 5 μm and further contains an anionic surfactant but is substantially free from resin.
Anti-corrosion nanoparticle compositions
Anti-corrosion nanoparticle compositions include a carrier and a plurality of nonionic metal nanoparticles. The metal nanoparticles can be spherical-shaped and/or coral-shaped metal nanoparticles. The nanoparticles are selected so as to locate at the grain boundaries of a metal or metal alloy when the anti-corrosion composition is applied to the metal or alloy, thereby reducing or preventing intergranular corrosion of the metal or alloy.
COATING COMPOSITION FOR BEVERAGE CONTAINERS
Beverage containers and methods of coating are provided. The beverage containers include a metal substrate that is at least partially coated with a coating prepared from a composition that have robust adhesion and mechanical properties after cure.
METHOD OF PROVIDING A HYDROPHOBIC COATING USING NON-FUNCTIONALIZED NANOPARTICLES
An anti-corrosive coating for a substrate surface comprises an insulation layer positioned over the substrate and a cured epoxy layer positioned on the insulation layer, the cured epoxy layer including a plurality of nanoparticles having diameters within a range of about 200 nm to about 350 nm. Water droplets positioned on an external surface of the cured epoxy layer form a contact angle of at least 130 degrees.
ANTIGLARE FILM LAMINATE, POLARIZING PLATE, AND DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention relates to an antiglare film laminate including a polymer substrate, and an antiglare layer containing a binder resin and organic fine particles or inorganic fine particles dispersed on the binder resin, wherein the number of pressed portions formed on an outer surface of the antiglare layer is 0.001 pieces/m.sup.2 or less, and the pressed portion has a diameter of 200 μm to 600 μm and a thickness of 80% or less of an average thickness of the antiglare layer, a polarizing plate including the antiglare film laminate, and a display device including the polarizing plate.
