At least one elongated cellulose layer is composed of Kraft paper having paper basis weight between 30 and 90 pounds and an average thickness between 0.003 and 0.009 inches. The elongated substrate has a first planar face and an opposed second planar face. A polymeric layer overlies at least a portion of the first planar face of the elongated substrate and comprises a polymeric blend of between 50 and 80 wt. % styrene butadiene copolymer and 0.2 and 3 wt. % of a cellulose ether compound. The cellulose ether compound comprises hydrogen or an alkyl group selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl carboxymethyl, hydroxyethyl methyl, hydroxypropyl and between 30 and 50 wt. % calcium carbonate and water.

The manufacturing method provided by the present invention is a method for manufacturing core-shell particles that includes core particles and a shell, the constituent metal elements of the foregoing being different from each other. In the present invention, a quinone-containing core particle dispersion containing at least core particles consisting of a first metal, hydroquinone (HQ), benzoquinone (BQ), and a second metal compound including a second metal element for making up the shell is prepared, and a reduction treatment is performed on the quinone-containing core particle dispersion, through addition of a reducing agent, to form a shell including the second metal element as a main constituent element, on the surface of the core particles. A mass ratio: HQ/BQ ratio of added hydroquinone (HQ) and benzoquinone (BQ) is 0.1 to 120.

A multi-functional dispersant that also serves as a flow modifier and rheology modifier is contemplated. The dispersant itself is a mixture, extruded in the presence of water so as to impart moisture to that extrudate, which is formed from polyester resin, curatives, anti-corrosion pigments, UV absorbers, catalysts, flow modifiers, degassers, anti-oxidants and glass flakes. After grinding and optional mixing with a silica carrier, the resulting dispersant may be introduced to solid and liquid (by way of water) finished coating compositions in order to improve various properties of the coating.

There is provided a silver powder which has a small average particle diameter and a small thermal shrinkage percentage, and a method for producing the same. While a molten metal of silver heated to a temperature (1292 to 1692 C.), which is higher than the melting point (962 C.) of silver by 330 to 730 C., is allowed to drop, a high-pressure water is sprayed onto the molten metal of silver (preferably at a water pressure of 90 to 160 MPa) to rapidly cool and solidify the molten metal of silver to powderize silver to produce a silver powder which has an average particle diameter of 1 to 6 m and a shrinkage percentage of not greater than 8% (preferably not greater than 7%) at 500 C., the product of the average particle diameter by the shrinkage percentage at 500 C. being 1 to 11 m.Math.% (preferably 1.5 to 10.5 m.Math.%).
