Zinc-rich coatings and systems with microencapsulated healing agents
Microencapsulated healing agents that, upon incorporation into a zinc-rich coating or coating system, improve the coating or coating system's ability to maintain its adhesion and corrosion resistance after damage that exposes the underlying substrate. These microencapsulated healing agent formulations are uniquely synergistic with zinc-rich coatings, and/or with zinc particles in a zinc rich coating, improving both adhesion maintenance and corrosion resistance following damage that exposes the substrate.
VEHICLE SUSPENSION ELEMENT PROVIDED WITH A COATING, METHOD FOR DEPOSITING SAID COATING AND COATING COMPOSITION FOR THIS METHOD
A process for depositing a coating on a suspension element is provided. The process comprises: providing the suspension element to be coated; preheating the surface of the suspension element to a preheating temperature at least equal to 80 C.; depositing on the preheated surface of the suspension element a cross-linkable composition comprising an epoxy compound; and heating the surface of the suspension element to a temperature greater than the preheating temperature so as to cross-link the composition, therefore resulting in the coating.
AEROSOL PRIMER COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF USE
An aerosol primer composition includes a film forming component and a propellant component. The film forming component includes (by weight of the composition): (a) at least one of a polyurethane and alkyd from about 10% to about 20%, (b) cellulosic particles from about 2% to about 5%, and (c) an aqueous solvent system from about 20% to about 40%. The propellant component includes dimethyl ether. The aerosol primer composition can be stored within a spray assembly and the propellant component can be configured to pressurize the film forming component for dispensing from the spray assembly as an aerosol. The aerosol primer composition can be used to prime a substrate to be painted or stained.
Laser-markable polymers and coatings
The present invention relates to laser-markable polymers and coatings which are distinguished by the fact that they comprise tin/antimony oxide-coated spherical TiO.sub.2 particles of defined particle size as laser additive.
Ultra High Strength Coating and Composites
Method of producing a high strength (with improved tensile strength and elongation at break properties), high quality, cost effective, nanoparticle enhanced polyurea, polyurethane, and epoxy composites with chemical bonding into polymer backbone. The mechanical properties of tensile strength and elongation at break improves concurrently and significantly with tensile strength increasing well over 300%. The polymer/nanoparticle composite can be produced cost effectively as a high quality coating system or in nanoparticle concentrate forms.
WHITE FUNCTIONAL ADDITIVES DERIVED FROM FILTRATION SPENT CAKE CONTAINING DIATOMITE
This disclosure concerns flux-calcined products manufactured from filtration waste streams, and methods for manufacturing the same. In particular, it concerns functional additives produced from spent cake comprising diatomite filtration media which are suitable for use in paints, plastic films and elastomers for control of optical and surface properties, and processes which are suitable for manufacture of such products. It further concerns the recovery of energy from spent cakes during the regeneration process.
COMPOSITE PARTICLES, METHOD OF PRODUCING COMPOSITE PARTICLES, DRY POWDER, AND MOLDING RESIN COMPOSITION
Composite particles comprising at least one type of polymer particles having surfaces that have thereon coatings formed of finely-disintegrated cellulose, with the polymer particles and the finely-disintegrated cellulose being inseparably bonded together.
Durable superhydrophobic color paint
A colored paint that imparts a superhydrophobic surface on an object is a suspension of hydrophobic particles in a polymeric binder and a plasticizer in a solvent or mixed solvent, wherein at least a portion of the hydrophobic particles are colored particles. Colored particles can be ultramarine, iron oxide, chromium oxide, or any other colored metal oxide. The hydrophobic particles can be metal oxide particles that are surface functionalized with a fluorinated alkyl silane or an alkyl silane. The binder is a mixture of PDVF and PMMA in a ratio of 3:1 to 10:1. The plasticizer is a mixture of triethyl phosphate and perfluoro(butyltetrahydrofuran) or other perfluorinated hydrocarbon. Surfaces coated using this paint display contact angles in excess of 150 and resist abrasion.
Digital printing with transparent blank ink
A method, a panel and equipment to form a digital print by applying dry ink (15), preferably including particles of pigment coated wood fibres (61), on a surface (2), bonding a part of the particles with a liquid blank ink drops (57) and removing the non-bonded particles from the surface (2).
COMPOSITE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE
Entrance of liquid is sufficiently prevented while electrical conductivity of a carbon material is maintained. A composite 1 includes a substrate 2 and a conductive layer 3 formed on the substrate 2. The substrate 2 includes: a carbon material including a carbon component; and hydrophobic resin.
