The present disclosure provides a paint composition, and methods of making and using the same, wherein the composition includes metal silicate particles, a binder, pigment particles, and a solvent. A benefit of the paint composition can be that it captures carbon dioxide from the air and excludes toxic or non-naturally occurring ingredients.

FLUOROPOLYMER COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING UNCROSSLINKED FLUOROPOLYMER SUITABLE FOR COPPER AND ELECTRONIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS ARTICLES

An electronic telecommunication article is described comprising a layer of fluoropolymer composition comprising an uncrosslinked fluoropolymer comprising at least 80, 85, or 90% by weight of polymerized units perfluorinated monomers including one or more unsaturated perfluorinated alkyl ethers. In typical embodiments, the uncrosslinked fluoropolymer comprises at least 10, 20, or 30 wt. % of one or more unsaturated perfluorinated alkyl ethers. The uncrosslinked fluoropolymer may be characterized as amorphous. The uncrosslinked fluoropolymer is soluble in fluorinated solvent. Also described are coated (e.g. copper) substrates, methods, and compositions.

Aqueous composition of organic polymeric microspheres, binder particles, and ion exchange resin

The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of a) polymer particles having a z-average particle size in the range of from 50 nm to 500 nm; b) anion exchange resin particles having a D.sub.50 median particle size in the range of from 0.1 ?m to 50 ?m; and c) polymeric organic microspheres having a D.sub.50 median particle size in the range of from 1 ?m to 20 ?m, wherein the weight-to-weight ratio of polymer particles to microspheres is in the range of from 0.5:1 to 20:1. The composition of the present invention is useful for paint compositions that form matte finishes with an excellent balance of stain blocking and stain removal properties.

COATINGS FOR MARINE VESSELS THAT REDUCE CAVITATION
20240199173 · 2024-06-20 ·

Disclosed are compositions for coating substrates used in wet environments including boats, ships, other marine vessels and their parts that are submerged in water. The compositions comprise solvent-borne monomers, diluent, an adhesion promoter, a rheology modifier and a ceramic performance additive such as hollow spheres and non-hollow spheres. Once the composition is applied to a substrate, the coatings protect by minimizing cavitation and underwater radiation noise when the marine vessel is in operation. The coatings may also exhibiting improved substrate adhesion, overcoat adhesion, recoat adhesion, bending strength of at least 10 mm, reduced noise radiation, and/or improved hardness as indicated by scratch resistance (relative to a control).

Non-ablative multi-layer coatings for boat propellers that prevent water-derived damage, corrosion, and deterioration from biological chemical processes
12012522 · 2024-06-18 · ·

Methods of protecting a propeller include applying an inner polymer layer onto a propeller. The inner polymer layer is impregnated with a biologically active chemical substance that inhibits biofouling-induced chemical, biological, and bio-proliferative damage and that does not chemically or galvanically interact with a material of the propeller. An outer polymer layer is applied onto the inner polymer layer, the outer polymer layer being impregnated with a biologically active chemical substance that inhibits biofouling-induced chemical, biological, and bio-proliferative damage and that repels biofouling organisms to prevent invasion of the inner polymer layer.
