The present invention aims to provide a resin having an excellent solubility to alcohols, an excellent adherability to nonpolar base materials such as polyolefin, and not containing chlorine; and to provide a resin composition containing a urethane resin, not having the elimination problem of hydrochloric acid caused by external factors, having a good compatibility with a variety of components containing urethane resins, and having a good adherability to a variety of base materials, so that the resin composition can suitably be used as an ink, an adhesive, and paint. The present invention provides a block copolymer comprising a polymer block (A) mainly comprising olefin monomers and a polymer block (B) comprising vinyl monomers having hydroxy groups and other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with the vinyl monomers having hydroxy groups, in which a hydroxy value is within a range of 5 mg KOH/g to 120 mg KOH/g; a dispersion thereof; a resin composition containing the block copolymer and a urethane resin; and uses thereof.

A non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition that comprises a combination of metal oxide particles in an amount ranging from about 0.1 wt % to about 20 wt % based on the total weight of the ink; an organic solvent; a photo-initiator; and a polymerizable material wherein the ink composition has a first dynamic viscosity ranging from 25 cps to 10,000 cps at a first state and a second dynamic viscosity ranging from 1 cps to 50 cps at a second state. Also described herein is a method for making such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition and a method for producing printed images using such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition.

Also described herein is a method for making such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition and a method for producing printed images using such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition.

An ethyleneimine polymer, wherein a number average molecular weight (Mn) of the ethyleneimine polymer measured by gel permeation chromatography in terms of pullulan is 13,000 or more, a degree of dispersion of the ethyleneimine polymer is greater than 3.0 and 5.0 or less, and a water content in the ethyleneimine polymer is from 3 to 35% by weight.

An aqueous ink for ink jet including a resin particle. The resin particle includes a first layer and a second layer in this order from the inside to the outside thereof. The first layer is composed of a first resin, wherein the proportion of a unit derived from an aromatic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the first resin is 10% by mass or less. The second layer has a tetrahydrofuran-insoluble fraction of 10% by mass or more and is composed of a second resin having a unit derived from an aromatic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a unit derived from an ionic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein the proportion of the unit derived from the ionic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the second resin is 3% by mass or more to 70% by mass or less.

An aqueous ink for ink jet including a resin particle. The resin particle includes a first layer and a second layer in this order from the inside to the outside thereof. The first layer is composed of a first resin, wherein the proportion of a unit derived from an aromatic-group-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the first resin is 10% by mass or less. The present invention relates to a water-based ink containing at least pigment-containing water-insoluble crosslinked polymer particles (A), a polymer emulsion (B) and water, in which a water-insoluble crosslinked polymer constituting the crosslinked polymer particles (A) is obtained by subjecting a polymer that contains a constitutional unit derived from a carboxylic acid monomer having an acid value of not less than 200 mgKOH/g and a constitutional unit derived from a hydrophobic monomer, to crosslinking reaction with an epoxy compound, and a polymer constituting the polymer emulsion (B) contains a constitutional unit derived from a carboxylic acid monomer and a constitutional unit derived from a hydrophobic monomer. The water-based ink of the present invention is excellent in ejection stability and fastness of the printed characters or images while maintaining good optical density.
