GOLF BALLS HAVING LAYERS MADE OF SILICONE ELASTOMER AND POLYURETHANE BLENDS
Multi-layered golf balls having at least one layer made from silicone (polysiloxane) elastomers; silicone (polysiloxane) elastomer/polyurethane blends; polycarbonate-polysiloxane blends and copolymers; and polycarbonate-polysiloxane/polyurethane blends are provided. For example, three-piece, four-piece, and five-piece golf balls containing different core and cover structures can be made. The polysiloxane compositions have good thermal stability and durability without sacrificing resiliency. The polysiloxane compositions also have high elongation, tensile strength, chemical/fluid-resistance, and weatherability properties. These compositions can be used to form any layer, for example, core, intermediate, or cover, in the golf ball.
Moisture-curable polyolefin formulation
A moisture-curable formulation comprising a (hydrolyzable silyl group)-functional polyolefin prepolymer and an ascorbyl carboxylate ester. Methods of making and using same, a cured polyolefin made therefrom, and articles containing or made from same.
COATING COMPOSITION FOR BEVERAGE CONTAINERS
Beverage containers and methods of coating are provided. The beverage containers include a metal substrate that is at least partially coated with a coating prepared from a composition that includes a binder system, a cross linker, and a catalyst.
PAINT COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING COPOLYMER FORMULATIONS FOR IMPROVING ADHESION TO METALLIC SUBSTRATES
A paint composition intended for application to a metallic substrate, wherein the paint composition includes an amount of a copolymer emulsion formulation for improving the adhesion of the paint composition to the metallic substrate.
Antistatic polymers and methods of making the same
Antistatic polymers include divalent segments represented by the formula wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group having from 6 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R.sup.4 represents an alkylene group having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms. Methods of making antistatic polymers are also disclosed. ##STR00001##
Fibers of Polymer-Wax Compositions
A material web is disclosed. The material web includes a fiber layer having a first side and an opposing second side. The fiber layer has a plurality of fibers, each of which having an intimate admixture of a thermoplastic polymer, and a wax and/or oil, wherein at least some of the wax and/or oil is exposed at an outer surface of the fibers. A surface energy treatment is disposed on the first side and/or the second side of the fiber layer.

Thermoplastic Vulcanizate Compositions for Photovoltaic Cell Applications
Provided herein are back sheets comprising and/or otherwise made from thermoplastic vulcanizates, PV modules comprising such TPV-based back sheets, and methods for forming the TPV back sheets and PV modules. TPV-based back sheets provide particular advantages over incumbent back sheets, including increased flexibility, greater electrical insulation properties, and more desirable barrier properties. The TPV-based back sheets of some embodiments provide PV modules improved endurance, particularly under the changing and often harsh environmental conditions in which PV modules are often deployed. The TPV-based back sheets of some embodiments also enable efficient construction of unusual PV module geometries, such as non-planar (e.g., curved and/or hinged) geometries.
Water borne polyolefin dispersion coatings, and methods of making
The present invention provides aqueous polyolefin dispersion compositions for use in metal coatings, such as can coatings, comprising one or more polyolefin base polymer, one or more at least partially neutralized olefinic stabilizing agent having an acid number (AN) of from 80 to 250, preferably, a polyolefin stabilizing agent, such as an olefin-carboxylic acid copolymer or a blend of two such polymers, an optional coupling agent having an acid number (AN) of from 10 to 70 and a melt index of from 500 to 5,000,000 grams of polymer melt passing in 10 minutes through a heated syringe or cylinder at 190 C. with a plunger loaded with 2.16 kg, preferably, a polymer, and a hindered phenolic antioxidant containing an ester linkage dispersed in the polyolefin dispersion composition. The hindered phenolic antioxidant containing an ester linkage can be masterbatched with a polyolefin base polymer, polyolefin stabilizing agent or a coupling agent which is a polymer, melt mixed with the remaining polyolefin composition and then dispersed with aqueous media and a neutralizing agent to form the aqueous dispersion.
