Vinyl acetate-based copolymer dispersions with small particle size

Aqueous copolymer dispersions are useful for incorporating into primer formulations. The aqueous copolymer dispersions comprise a vinyl acetate-based copolymer and have a particle size of less than or equal to 120 nanometers. The resulting primer formulations have good penetration in various substrates, and/or water resistance/binding properties.

A fiber preparation treated with an aqueous polyolefin dispersion having a pH value from 7.5-9.4 containing from 50 to 100 wt. % of an aqueous dispersion A and from 0 to 50 wt. % of a compound B. Dispersion A comprises from 41 to 98 wt. % of A1, one or more copolymers of ethylene and (meth)acrylic acid having a content of (meth)acrylic based groups of at least 14 wt. % based on the total weight of the copolymer, from 1 to 59 wt. % of A2, one or more olefinic structure units containing hydrocarbon polymer, and from 0-35 wt. % of additive different from A1 and A2, based on the solid content of dispersion A. Compound B is a material dispersible or soluble in water and different from the ingredients of dispersion A. The wt. % of A and B is based on the solid content of the aqueous polyolefin dispersion.

COATED PAPER LINER

A coated paper liner serves as both exterior packaging and an interior release liner for consumer products. The liner comprises a paper sheet layer with a first polymeric composition, such as a thermoplastic elastomer or polymer, forming a film on at least a portion of a surface of the paper sheet. The liner may comprise a flexibility agent that enhances pliability and noise reduction during handling. The liner may also include a release agent, such as silicone, to prevent adhesion of consumer products to the liner. The method of manufacturing involves coating the paper sheet with the polymeric composition and flexibility agent, followed by drying. This solution offers a sustainable alternative to plastic films, providing to the liner heat-sealability, barrier properties, and recyclability.
