ELECTROMAGNETIC STEEL SHEET COATED WITH INSULATING FILM, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND COATING MATERIAL FOR FORMING INSULATING FILM
An electromagnetic steel sheet coated with an insulating film with excellent hardness and suitable for use as a material for iron cores of large-sized electric-power generators; and a process for producing the electromagnetic steel sheet coated with an insulating film. The purpose is achieved with a coating material for forming insulating films, the coating material including a solvent and components (A) to (C) contained therein in the respective amounts on a solid basis. (A) A water-compatible carboxylated resin; 100 parts by mass. (B) An aluminum-containing oxide; more than 40 parts by mass but less than 300 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the component (A). (C) At least one crosslinking agent selected from the group containing of melamine, isocyanates, and oxazoline; 100 parts by mass or more but less than 300 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the component (A).

GAS BARRIER COMPOSITION, COATING AGENT, AND LAMINATE
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a composition that delivers high barrier properties in fewer coating steps. The present invention solves this problem by providing a composition for gas barrier purposes that contains at least one carboxyl-containing resin (A), at least one divalent metal compound (B), and at least one alcohol (C). The alcohol (C) content of the composition is between 85 and 98 wt %, and the water content of the composition is 1% or less. The present invention, furthermore, is one that provides a gas barrier coating agent containing this composition for gas barrier purposes and a laminate having a substrate and a coat layer obtained by applying this coating agent.
GAS BARRIER COMPOSITION, COATING AGENT, AND LAMINATE
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a composition that delivers high barrier properties in fewer coating steps. The present invention solves this problem by providing a composition for gas barrier purposes that contains at least one carboxyl-containing resin (A), at least one divalent metal compound (B), and at least one alcohol (C). The alcohol (C) content of the composition is between 85 and 98 wt %, and the water content of the composition is 1% or less. The present invention, furthermore, is one that provides a gas barrier coating agent containing this composition for gas barrier purposes and a laminate having a substrate and a coat layer obtained by applying this coating agent.
COMPOSITION FOR FORMING A COATING FILM FOR REMOVING FOREIGN MATTERS
A simple method for removing foreign substances that are formed on a substrate during a semiconductor device production process and a composition for forming a coating film for foreign substance removal, said coating film being used in the above-described method. A composition for forming a coating film for foreign substance removal, said composition containing a polymer and a solvent and being capable of forming a coating film that dissolves in a developer liquid, wherein: the polymer is selected from among phenolic novolacs, polyhydroxystyrene derivatives and carboxylic acid-containing polymers; and the polymer is contained in an amount of 50% by mass or more relative to the total solid content in the composition.
ANCHOR COAT AGENT
Provided is an anchor coating agent which is excellent in storage stability and can form an anchor coat layer excellent in inkjet printability, coating film durability, and hiding power. The present invention relates to an anchor coating agent containing a white pigment, an ionic salt, and an aqueous resin having an acid value of 50 mgKOH/g or less.
GAS BARRIER LAMINATE, COATING LIQUID FOR PRODUCING SAME, PACKAGING MATERIAL, PACKAGE, AND PACKAGED ARTICLE
A coating liquid for producing a gas barrier laminate, the coating liquid containing a carboxyl group-containing polymer (a), polyvalent metal-containing particles (b), a surfactant (c), a specific silicon-containing compound (d), and an organic solvent (e). In the coating liquid: the equivalence ratio (b.sub.t/a.sub.t) of the product (b.sub.t) of the number of moles and the valency of the polyvalent metal contained in the polyvalent metal-containing particles (b) relative to the number of moles (a.sub.t) of carboxyl groups contained in the carboxyl group-containing polymer (a) is 0.45 or more and 0.9 or less; and the molar ratio (d.sub.t/a.sub.t) of the number of moles (d.sub.t) of the silicon-containing compound (d) relative to the number of moles (a.sub.t) of the carboxyl groups is 0.7% or more and 7.5% or less.

An aqueous dispersion including a polymer having a 2-oxazoline group; and a surfactant, the surfactant containing a sulfuric acid ester compound represented by the following Chemical Formula (S):

Methods and materials for the functionalization of polymers and coatings including functionalized polymer
The disclosure provides a functionalized polymer for use in coating compositions and a method for making the functionalized polymer. In some embodiments, the functionalized polymer is a water-dispersible polymer, more preferably a water-dispersible polyester polymer, having one or more side groups including one or more salt groups. Packaging containers (e.g., food or beverage cans) comprising the functionalized polymer and methods of making such containers are also provided.
