The modified polyisocyanate is obtained by a reaction of a system comprising the following components: at least an aminosulfonic acid; at least a polyisocyanate; at least a tertiary amine; and optionally a polyether alcohol containing an ethylene oxide group. The modified polyisocyanate comprises at least an iminooxadiazinedione structure and at least an isocyanurate structure, the weight ratio of the iminooxadiazinedione structure to the isocyanurate structure being 1:300 to 1:5. The amount of sulfonate group of the modified polyisocyanate is 0.75% by weight to 1.1% by weight, based on the amount of the modified polyisocyanate as 100% by weight. The viscosity thereof is 500 mPa.Math.s to 10000 mPa.Math.s, as determined according to DIN EN ISO 3219:1994-10 at a temperature of 23° C. and a shear rate of 10 s.sup.−1. The coating comprising the modified polyisocyanate of the present invention can be manually stirred well, and the resulting coating layer has high gloss and good transparency.
POLYURETHANE OR POLYURETHANE-UREA COMPOSITIONS WITH REDUCED COLD HARDENING
A polyurethane or polyurethane-urea composition with reduced cold hardening being the reaction product of: a) at least one block copolymer of A-B-A type with an average number molecular weight of 1000 to 5000 g/mol, and being the reaction product of a poly(alkylene oxide) diol and a cyclic lactone or ether, the poly(alkylene oxide) diol being present in the range 30-70 wt % of the block copolymer and the cyclic lactone or ether is present in the range 30-70 wt, and b) at least one diisocyanate, and associated uses of the same.
Polyurethane composition with low plasticiser migration
A composition having at least one polyisocyanate and/or at least one isocyanate-group-containing polyurethane polymer and at least one latent hardener having aldimino group(s) of formula (I)—as an elastic adhesive, sealant or coating, which is applied on at least one plasticiser migration sensitive substrate and/or is provided with at least one covering layer and a composite obtained therefrom. The method is characterized in that porous material or stress-crackforming plastics can be used without restriction as substrates and very different materials can be used without restriction as covering layers, without the occurrence of damage associated with plasticiser migration from the composition, such as bleeding, discoloring, spotting, softening, swelling or detachment.
Sealant having fireworthy properties for use with aircraft parts
Fireworthy sealants may have a variety of compositions and be made by a variety of techniques. In certain implementations, a fireworthy sealant may include a body comprised of a cured, tacky, soft, deformable non-adhesive gel. The gel body may have an upper surface, a lower surface, and a perimeter, wherein the upper and lower surfaces of the gel body, in an uncompressed state, define a body thickness. The sealant may, in an uncompressed state, be dimensioned to fit in a first opening between a wall and an aircraft component surface and deformable when under compression to fit in a second opening, smaller than the first opening. The sealant may be flame retardant and produce low smoke density and low smoke toxicity.
Two component polyurethane composition
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a first component containing at least one polyol, and a second component containing at least one polyisocyanate, the composition further comprising at least one aldimine of formula (I). The composition exhibits a long open time and fast curing without odor immissions, wherein a bubble-free, elastic material having a non-tacky surface and good strength, extensibility, elasticity and resistance is produced, which does not tend to problems arising with plasticizer migration.
