An object of the present invention is to provide a compound having an excellent rate of change in HTP caused by exposure. Another object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal composition formed of the compound, a cured product, an optically anisotropic body, and a reflective film.

The compound of the present invention is represented by General Formula (1).

In General Formula (1), a portion where a solid line and a broken line are parallel to each other represents a single bond or a double bond.

In General Formula (1), X.sup.1 to X.sup.8 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent. However, at least one of X.sup.1, X.sup.3, X.sup.5, or X.sup.7 and at least one of X.sup.2, X.sup.4, X.sup.6, or X.sup.8 represent a substituent including a group represented by General Formula (2).

In General Formula (2), Z represents a single bond or —O—. Y.sup.1 and Y.sup.2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group not including an aryl group. *1 and *2 represent bonding positions.

LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION AND PHOTOELECTRIC DISPLAY DEVICE THEREOF

A liquid crystal composition includes at least one compound of general Formula I in an amount of 1%-30% by weight of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, at least one compound of general Formula II in an amount of 5%-35% by weight of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, and at least one compound of general Formula III in an amount of 10%-50% by weight of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition. The liquid crystal composition has an appropriate clearing point, an appropriate optical anisotropy, an appropriate dielectric anisotropy, as well as a higher voltage holding ratio, a higher transmittance, a good high-temperature resistant performance and a faster response speed, thus being suitable for display modes, such as VA, IPS and FFS. A photoelectric display device includes the liquid crystal composition.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal composition comprising one or more compounds of general formula I and one or more compounds of general formula II; the liquid crystal composition of the present invention can work at very high and very low temperatures, has a very short response time and a better reliability to light and heat, and particularly exhibits no image retention or a significantly reduced image retention after a long time operation.

In the molecular structures of the compounds of formula I provided by the present invention, liquid crystal compounds of cycloalkyl terminal group-containing dibenzofuran derivatives, compared with those having flexible alkyl chains as terminal groups, exhibit better intersolubility, and thus the use of a compound as represented by formula I provided by the present invention can improve the intersolubility of a liquid crystal compound and extend the application range of a liquid crystal mixture, producing an important application value. ##STR00001##
