Imaging system with adaptive object magnification

An imaging system that is configured to automatically obtain and provide two and three-dimensional digital images of various types of objects (e.g., tissue specimens, animals, electrical devices, etc.) for use in analysis thereof in a manner free of manual repositioning of the objects between images and free of movement of an electromagnetic radiation source and detector within or relative to a cabinet housing of the system.

PET/MRI INSERT SYSTEM

The present disclosure relates to an insert system for performing positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The insert system can be reversibly installed to an existing system, such that PET functionality can be introduced into the existing system without the need to significantly modify the existing system. The present disclosure also relates to a multi-modality imaging system capable for conducting both PET imaging and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The PET and MRI imaging can be performed simultaneously or sequentially, while the performance of neither imaging modality is compromised for the operation of the other imaging modality.

A digital dental x-ray sensor device includes a rounded, three-dimensional housing that lacks corners, edges, or other relatively sharp features that are known to cause discomfort when used in a patient's mouth. The rounded housing can be spherical, ellipsoid, or any similar regular or irregular rounded shape, and can be formed by ensuring that all curves of the surface of the rounded housing have a minimum radius that is sufficient to prevent features that can dig into the soft tissue of the inside of a patient's mouth.

CORRECTING MOTION-RELATED DISTORTIONS IN RADIOGRAPHIC SCANS

A method comprising: receiving a radiographic image dataset representing a sequential radiographic scan of a region of a human subject; receiving three-dimensional (3D) image data representing an optical scan of a surface of said region, wherein said 3D image data is performed simultaneously with said sequential radiographic scan; estimating a time-dependent motion of said subject during said acquisition, relative to a specified position, based, at least in part, on said 3D image data; and using said estimating to determine corrections for said radiographic image dataset, based, at least in part, on a known transformation between corresponding coordinate systems of said radiographic image dataset and said 3D image data.

Variable PET apparatus

A variable PET apparatus allows structural changes of detector modules in transversal and longitudinal directions to correspond to various imaging purposes and a cross-sectional diameter of a subject while maintaining an arrangement of the detector modules to be close to a true circle. The variable PET apparatus includes: a gantry having an opening on a longitudinal axis; and detector modules supported on the gantry and arranged a predetermined distance apart from each other such that a detection ring is configured with a diameter in a circumferential direction, wherein the gantry is driven by a gantry drive member, and the detector modules are driven by a detector module drive member. According to the present invention, structural changes of the detector modules in the PET apparatus is possible to correspond to a cross-sectional diameter of a subject without additional devices, thereby improving the spatial resolution and sensitivity.

Radiation detector and radiation detector module

A radiation detector according to an embodiment includes a plurality of radiation detector modules and a fixing frame. When a radiation detector module is attached to the fixing frame, a guiding part with a groove shape formed at an end of a support member of the radiation detector module on a side of the fixing frame is fitted to a guiding pin provided to an end of the fixing frame, so that the radiation detector module is positioned in a radiation irradiation direction while a movement thereof in a channel direction and a row direction is restricted.

Computer tomography apparatus

The invention relates to a computer tomography apparatus for examining a body part of a large animal, comprising a computer tomography (CT) device and a platform on which the CT device is mounted. The CT device has an annular gantry and a CT table to accommodate a body part of a large animal to be examined. The gantry is immovable relative to the platform. Relative to the platform and to the gantry the CT table is horizontally movably connected to the gantry and/or the platform in such a way that the CT table can be moved into a central opening in the annular gantry. The computer tomography apparatus further comprises a positioning device which is connected to the platform and is designed to position the platform having the mounted CT device relative to a supporting surface for a large animal. The positioning device is designed to position the platform having the mounted CT device in an operational state in such a way that during a relative movement with respect to the gantry the CT table remains stationary relative to the supporting surface.
