A device and methods for performing a simulated CT biopsy on a region of interest on a patient. The device comprises a gantry (22) configured to mount an x-ray emitter (24) and CT detector (26) on opposing sides of the gantry, a motor (28) rotatably coupled to the gantry such that the gantry rotates horizontally about the region of interest, and a rotation of source high resolution x-ray detector (172) positioned adjacent the CT detector in between the CT detector and the x-ray emitter.

ROBOTIC CATHETER SYSTEM

A robotic catheter system includes a controller with a master input device. An instrument driver is in communication with the controller and has a guide instrument interface including a plurality of guide instrument drive elements responsive to control signals generated, at least in part, by the master input device. An elongate guide instrument has a base, distal end, and a working lumen, wherein the guide instrument base is operatively coupled to the guide instrument interface. The guide instrument includes a plurality of guide instrument control elements operatively coupled to respective guide drive elements and secured to the distal end of the guide instrument. The guide instrument control elements are axially moveable relative to the guide instrument such that movement of the guide instrument distal end may be controlled by the master input device.

Dental X-ray sensor holder and dental X-ray sensor sheath therefor
11020069 · 2021-06-01 · ·

A dental x-ray sensor holder and sheath for affixing a sensor to a backing plate of the holder. The dental x-ray sensor holder and sheath generally includes a sensor holder with a backing plate, having one or more spring arms, and affixed to or formed contiguously with a proximal end of a bite block of the holder. It also includes a sensor sheath adapted to secure a sensor to the backing plate for X-ray acquisition.

IMAGING WITH CURVED COMPRESSION ELEMENTS

A curved compression element, such as a breast compression paddle, and imaging systems and methods for use with curved compression elements. A system may include a radiation source, a detector, and a curved compression element. Operations are performed that include receiving image data from the detector; accessing a correction map for the at least one compression paddle; correcting the image data based on the correction map to generate a corrected image data; and generating an image of the breast based on the corrected image data. The breast compression element generally has no sharp edges, but rather has smooth edges and transitions between surfaces. The breast compression paddle also includes a flexible material that spans a portion of a curved bottom surface of the breast compression paddle to define a gap. The flexible material may be a thin-film material such as a shrink wrap.

CT systems for imaging of the breast

In example embodiments, a CT imaging system is provided comprising opposing x-ray generation and x-ray detector assemblies and a motion mechanism configured for simultaneously rotationally orbiting the x-ray generation and x-ray detector assemblies around a patient's anatomy along a main axis of rotation of the imaging system while rotationally oscillating the x-ray generation and x-ray detector assemblies about a spinning oscillation axis which is perpendicular to both the main axis of rotation and to a transmission axis extending between the x ray generation and detector assemblies. Further improvements related to a patient support platform and a biopsy attachment are also described herein.

Portable sterile C-arm cover

A sterile X-ray imaging C-arm cover is provided. The sterile X-ray imaging C-arm cover includes an enclosure configured to be secured to a medical table and to cover a portion of a C-arm, two sidewalls extending from a rotation end to a bottom end. The enclosure may include a front wall extending between the two sidewalls, enabling a medical professional to move around the enclosure to access a patient on the medical table. The enclosure may include a bottom wall coupled to the front wall and the two sidewalls, wherein the two sidewalls, the front wall, and the bottom wall form an envelope configured to receive the portion of the C-arm. The sterile X-ray imaging C-arm cover may include one or more securing mechanisms configured to secure the C-arm cover to the medical table, wherein the one or more securing mechanisms are positioned at the rotation end of the enclosure.

STERILE BARRIERS FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
20210128091 · 2021-05-06 ·

Sterile barriers or sterile drapes that can be used with medical devices, including hand-held or self-supported X-ray equipment, are described in this application. In particular, this application describes sterile drapes that can be used with a medical device, the drape comprising a closed end portion, a middle portion with a size sufficient to enclose a part of the medical device being used near a patient, and an open end portion, the end portion configured to be closed by a user once the middle portion encloses the part of the medical device being used near a patient, wherein the sterile drape creates a sterile barrier around substantially the entire medical device once the open end is closed. Using the sterile drape allows the medical device, such as a hand-held or self-supported X-ray device, to be used in a medical procedure that requires a sterile field near the patient without disrupting that sterile field. Other embodiments are described.
