Provided is a rubber composition for sealing material which contains 100 parts by mass of a rubber component, 50 to 140 parts by mass of silica, 1 to 20 parts by mass of a silane coupling agent, and 15 to 35 parts by mass of carbon black. The rubber component is preferably an ethylene-propylene-diene rubber.

The invention relates to a crosslinkable rubber composition (I) based on an elastomer and to the process for preparing same. The composition (I) comprises a crosslinking system and a thermoplastic phase which is dispersed into particles, having a melting point MP or softening point SP, a glass transition temperature Tg and optionally a crystallisation temperature Tc, the system comprising sulfur when the elastomer is unsaturated and the phase comprises saturated chains, and a peroxide when the elastomer is saturated, the composition (I) comprising the product of: a) a melt reaction by thermomechanical working of the elastomer and other ingredients except for the system, comprising heating the mixture to a maximum temperature Ta that is greater than MP or SP, then b) mechanical working of the mixture obtained, with addition of the system. The particles comprise filaments or fibrils, the temperature of the mixture during b) being temporarily greater than Tc when the phase is crystalline, or than Tg when it is amorphous.

The present invention relates to compositions (compounds) which can be used as seal material in vessel caps, even under pasteurization conditions and possibly sterilization conditions. More specifically, the invention relates to such compositions that are suitable for vessel caps that can be unscrewed, such as lug screw caps and in particular Press-on/Twist-off caps, and that result in a reduced migration of undesirable substances.

A sealant material for sealing joints between male and female mating parts comprising: (a) an elongate flexible thread suitable for wrapping around at least one of the parts, and (b) a joint sealing composition comprising an anaerobically curable composition in solid form,
the flexible thread being coated with the anaerobically curable composition. This provides a reactive composition on the thread for sealing joints.

Receptacle closure made of metal, with a sealing insert that is arranged in the receptacle closure in such a way that it comes into contact with the mouth of the receptacle when the receptacle closure is positioned on the receptacle, wherein the sealing insert contains or is made from a sealing compound that includes at least 10% by weight, preferably at least 40% by weight LDPE relative to the total weight of the sealing compound, in particular with butene, hexene or octene as comonomer besides contents of LLDPE and/or OBC and a content of more than 2% by weight of at least one oxygen-absorbing compound, preferably sodium sulfite.
