Imaging systems and methods

Versatile, multimode radiographic systems and methods utilize portable energy emitters and radiation-tracking detectors. The x-ray emitter may include a digital camera and, optionally, a thermal imaging camera to provide for fluoroscopic, digital, and infrared thermal imagery of a patient for the purpose of aiding diagnostic, surgical, and non-surgical interventions. The emitter may cooperative with an inventive x-ray capture stage that automatically pivots, orients and aligns itself with the emitter to maximize exposure quality and safety. The combined system uses less power, corrects for any skew or perspective in the emission, allows the subject to remain in place, and allows the surgeon's workflow to continue uninterrupted.

According to one embodiment, an X-ray diagnostic apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to control an X-ray tube to perform an X-ray irradiation, that is performed prior to an X-ray imaging performed on an object, based on an imaging condition where at least one of an X-ray irradiation range and dose is smaller than an imaging condition of the X-ray imaging. Further, the processing circuitry is configured to evaluate a positional relationship between the X-ray tube and an X-ray detector based on a detection result of an X-ray irradiated in the prior X-ray irradiation by the X-ray detector.

A nuclear medicine (NM) multi-head imaging system is provided that includes a gantry, plural detector units mounted to the gantry, and at least one processor operably coupled to at least one of the detector units. The detector units are mounted to the gantry. Each detector unit defines a detector unit position and corresponding view oriented toward a center of the bore. Each detector unit is configured to acquire imaging information over a sweep range corresponding to the corresponding view. The at least one processor is configured to, for each detector unit, determine plural angular positions along the sweep range corresponding to boundaries of the object to be imaged, generate a representation of each angular position for each detector unit position, generate a model based on the angular positions using the representation, and determine scan parameters to be used to image the object using the model.

GAP RESOLUTION FOR LINEAR DETECTOR ARRAY

An imaging system generates a first radiograph based on a first pattern of radiation detected by a Linear Diode Array (LDA) radiation detector positioned to detect a radiation beam emitted by a radiation generator. The LDA radiation detector comprises a plurality of modules. Each respective module of the plurality of modules comprises a respective plurality of photodiodes corresponding to pixels. Furthermore, the imaging system may determine, based on the first radiograph, a size of a gap between two of the modules of the LDA radiation detector. After determining the size of the gap, the imaging system may generate a second radiograph based on a second pattern of radiation detected by the LDA radiation detector. The imaging system may generate a third radiograph by modifying, based on the size of the gap, the second radiograph to compensate for the gap.
