The invention relates to a bi-functionalized polysiloxane brush copolymer comprising at least one hydroxyl-terminated polyalkyleneglycol side chain and at least one onium-functionalized side chain as defined herein, and a method for preparing the bi-functionalized polysiloxane brush copolymer, a curable composition comprising the bi-functionalized polysiloxane brush copolymer and its use.
Sealing member and waterproof connector
The present disclosure provides a sealing member that includes insertion holes into which connector terminals are inserted, wherein the sealing member exhibits a high water sealability and damage caused when the connector terminal is inserted into the insertion hole is suppressed. The present disclosure also provides a waterproof connector that includes the sealing member. A sealing member 10 includes: a silicone rubber that is formed as a plate-like member; and insertion holes 11 that are formed in a plate surface of the plate-like member and into which connector terminals 20 can be inserted. The silicone rubber has an unnotched Charpy impact strength at 60 C. of 11.5 kJ/m.sup.2 or more. A waterproof connector 1 includes the sealing member 10 and the connector terminals 20. The connector terminals 20 are inserted into the insertion holes 11 of the sealing member 10.
Seal member
This seal member is a cured product of a silicone rubber composition that comprises a silicone rubber and silica particles, and has multiple insertion holes into which counterpart members are inserted; and this seal member satisfies the following conditions (a) to (d). (a) If X (parts by mass) is the content of the silica particles relative to 100 parts by mass of a base polymer of the silicone rubber, (elastic recovery rate (%))/(X (parts by mass)) is from 3.6 to 9.6. (b) The type A durometer hardness is from 15 to 30. (c) The tensile strength at break is 2.1 MPa or more. (d) The coefficient of kinetic friction of the surfaces of the insertion holes is 2.5 or less.
PLUMBER'S PUTTY
Disclosed herein are plumber's putty compositions that avoid staining the surfaces plumbing parts to which they are applied in order to provide a watertight seal, including plastics, such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic, while providing the pliability and softness of traditional putties. Also provided are methods of providing a seal about a plumbing part comprising contacting the plumber's putty composition according to the present disclosure with the plumbing part.
Organopolysiloxane compound and production method thereof, and composition containing said compound
Provided is an organopolysiloxane compound acting as a chain extender for use in a room-temperature-vulcanizing (RTV) composition of a dealcoholization type that can be rapidly turned into a rubber and then exhibit a rubber elasticity. The organopolysiloxane compound is represented by the following general formula (1), and also provided is a composition containing this compound and a linear diorganopolysiloxane with both molecular chain ends being blocked by a silanol group or a hydrolyzable silyl group, ##STR00001##

Room-temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition and production method for same
A room-temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition that contains: 100 parts by mass of the product of reacting (A) a diorganopolysiloxane that is capped at both ends by a hydroxyl group, a hydroxy-group-containing hydrocarbon compound in such an amount as for there to be 0.01-0.5 mol per 1 mol of hydroxyl groups that are bonded to silicon atoms in the diorganopolysiloxane, and platinic chloride hexahydrate in an amount that is 0.01-1 mass % of the total of component (A); (B) 3-300 parts by mass of an inorganic filler; (C) 1-20 parts by mass of an organosilane that has at least 3 hydrolyzable groups per molecule thereof and/or a partial hydrolysis condensate of an organosilane that has at least 3 hydrolyzable groups per molecule thereof; (D) 0.01-5 parts by mass of a condensation cure catalyst; and (E) 0.1-5 parts by mass of a silane coupling agent (excluding component (C) and component (D)). The room-temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition gives cured products that retain low-elastic-modulus rubber elasticity over long periods of time and do not readily contaminate natural rock, coated aluminum, or the like.
Polyether-polysiloxane gradient copolymers
The invention relates to a polyether-polysiloxane copolymer that is a gradient copolymer; a two-component (2K) composition comprising at least one component (I) and at least one component (II), wherein component (I) comprises at least one compound having at least one hydroxyl group-reactive functionality, and component (II) comprises a hydroxyl-functionalized polyether-polysiloxane copolymer according to the invention; methods for producing a polyether-polysiloxane copolymer according to the invention, wherein a mixture of at least one alkylene oxide and at least one siloxane is polymerized in the presence of a Double Metal Cyanide (DMC) catalyst and use of the polyether-polysiloxane copolymer according to the invention, a two-component (2K) composition according to the invention or copolymers obtainable by a method of according to the invention as a reactive component for coating, sealant or adhesive compositions based on active hydrogen reactive compounds.
