Process for converting waste plastics to refining feedstock. The process includes conducting pyrolysis of a plastic feedstock comprising waste plastics to produce a liquid stream of plastic pyrolysis oil; directly feeding the liquid stream of plastic pyrolysis oil to an adsorption based purification process to generate a treated plastic pyrolysis oil stream; and collecting the treated plastic pyrolysis oil stream from the adsorption vessel for further processing into value added products as a feedstock for conventional refining processes. The adsorption based purification process includes contacting the liquid stream of plastic pyrolysis oil with one or more adsorbent materials in an adsorption vessel, the adsorbent materials with at least one of the one or more adsorbent materials being configured for adsorption of organic molecules having heteroatoms of each of sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen, and chlorine. Such system may be integrated with a conventional refinery.

An adsorbent composition for removing chlorides from hydrocarbon includes an adsorbent matrix and a metallic component. The metallic component forms an intimate complex with the adsorbent matrix. It is found that the amount of chlorides removed by the adsorbent composition from the hydrocarbon is in the range of 0.020 wt. % to 0.047 wt. %.

The present disclosure relates to a process for reducing the amount of carbon disulphide (CS.sub.2) in a hydrocarbon feed containing C.sub.5-C.sub.8 fractions. The hydrocarbon feed is treated with an amine functionalized anion exchange resin (basic anion exchange resin) to obtain a mixture comprising a liquid fraction containing treated hydrocarbon and a solid mass containing an adduct of CS.sub.2 and the amine functionalized anion exchange resin. The so obtained liquid fraction containing the treated hydrocarbon is separated from the solid mass to obtain the hydrocarbon having CS.sub.2 content less than 2 ppm. The amine functionalized anion exchange resin can be regenerated from the solid mass.

The present disclosure relates to a process for reducing the amount of carbon disulphide (CS.sub.2) in a hydrocarbon feed containing C.sub.5-C.sub.8 fractions. The hydrocarbon feed is treated with an amine functionalized anion exchange resin (basic anion exchange resin) to obtain a mixture comprising a liquid fraction containing treated hydrocarbon and a solid mass containing an adduct of CS.sub.2 and the amine functionalized anion exchange resin. The so obtained liquid fraction containing the treated hydrocarbon is separated from the solid mass to obtain the hydrocarbon having CS.sub.2 content less than 2 ppm. The amine functionalized anion exchange resin can be regenerated from the solid mass.

Disclosed are a pretreatment method and system for a fraction oil for the production of alkylbenzene, the method comprising: adding a fraction oil, a weak base solution and an inorganic salt solution into a reactor, and leaving same to stand and layering same after the reaction is complete; adding water and an inorganic salt solution into an oil phase for washing with water; extracting same with a polar solvent having a high boiling point, and then adsorbing same with an adsorbent to separate oxygen-containing compounds in the neutral fraction oil; sending the extraction agent containing the oxygen-containing compounds to an extraction agent recovery unit; and then sending the neutral fraction oil to an alkylation reactor for a reaction.
