A method and system to treat headaches in a patient by performing surgery via at least one nostril. Data from a computer tomography scan of at least one nasal cavity and one sinus cavity of the patient and a completed headache questionnaire are matched to at least one nasal/sinus surgery plan to operate on at least one of; a nasal septum, at least one sinus cavity and at least one turbinate of the patient. The surgery plan is executed by installing a topical local anesthetic and decongestant onto the at least one turbinate forming an anesthetized decongested nasal cavity; infusing an anesthetic into the anesthetized decongested nasal cavity of the patient; dilating the at least one sinus ostium; incising at least one of: a first mucosal flap or a second mucosal Hap of the nasal septum of the anesthetized decongested nasal cavity to expose deviated septal cartilage and bone; removing deviated cartilage and/or bone of the nasal septum; fracturing the at least one turbinate laterally away from the nasal septum; inspecting between the first mucosal flap and the second mucosal flap for a residual broken hone, a residual segment of cartilage or combinations thereof, surgically closing the first mucosal flap and the second mucosal flap of the nasal septum; and suctioning unwanted matter from the anesthetized decongested nasal cavity. An interactive system guides the surgery and provides a record thereof.

There are provided a gantry with an opening having a central axis inclined so that the opening is directed obliquely downward, a chair disposed obliquely below the gantry, and having an inclined surface for supporting a patient M so that the central axis of the opening and a body axis A of the patient M become parallel, and a chair moving mechanism for driving at least one of the gantry and the chair to insert the patient M into the opening parallel to the central axis of the opening of the gantry. Thus, images can be picked up of the patient M in a comfortable position safely and efficiently.

System and method for analyzing random patterns

Disclosed herein is a system and a method for analyzing apparent random pathways, patterns, networks, or a series of events and characterizing these apparent random pathways, patterns, networks, or a series of events by constructal analysis. The resulting statistical values obtained can be used to compare the apparent random pathways, patterns, networks, or a series of events with other apparent random pathways, patterns, networks, or a series of events. The comparison can yield knowledge about the apparent random pathways, patterns, networks, or a series of events as well as the neighborhood or surroundings of the apparent random pathways, patterns, networks, or a series of events.

Method for Optimising the Position of a Patient's Body Part Relative to an Irradiation Source
20170340297 · 2017-11-30 ·

The present invention relates to a method for positioning a patient's body part including a target to be irradiated relative to an irradiation source of a radiation imaging device, that generates a radiation beam directed towards the target, the method being constituted to be executed by a processor of a computer and comprising the following steps: receiving, at the processor, geometry data describing the geometry of at least one structure located in the field of view of the radiation imaging device; receiving, at the processor, tracking data describing the spatial position of the at least one structure within the field of view of the radiation imaging device; determining, with the processor, position data incorporating the geometry data and the tracking data, describing whether a position of the at least one structure lies within a radiation beam trajectory through the target; determining, with the processor, repositioning data describing a position of the at least one structure away from the radiation beam trajectory through the target; outputing, from the processor, the repositioning data allowing for repositioning of the at least one structure. The present invention further relates to a corresponding computer program and system.
