Syngas generation for gas-to-liquid fuel conversion
A syngas generator is disclosed as an exothermic gas generator that can accommodate high combustion temperatures of a natural gas/oxygen flame. The generator consists of four sections: a heavily insulated combustion chamber, a catalyst chamber, a spray chamber, and a heat exchanger. These four sections may be arranged in series and tightly bolted together to form a gas-tight system. Natural gas, oxygen and steam are supplied to a burner at the inlet end of the combustion chamber. This mixture is ignited and the resulting hot process gas is then fed into a catalyst bed where it reacts with the steam and is converted to carbon monoxide and hydrogen (syngas). The syngas is fed to a Fischer-Tropsch unit to create liquid fuel.

Method for producing bio-jet fuel
A method for producing a bio-jet fuel includes a reaction step of hydrogenating, isomerizing, and decomposing a crude oil obtained by a deoxygenation treatment of a raw oil containing a triglyceride and/or a free fatty acid, by using a hydrogenation catalyst and an isomerization catalyst in a hydrogen atmosphere under conditions of a reaction temperature of 180° C. to 350° C. and a pressure of 0.1 MPa to 30 MPa.
CO-PROCESSING OF RENEWABLE JET AND DIESEL
Systems and methods are provided for co-processing of renewable distillate fractions with mineral fractions to produce at least a jet (or kerosene) boiling range product and a diesel boiling range product. A combination of a jet boiling range product fraction and a diesel boiling range product fraction with unexpected properties can be formed by first blending i) a distillate boiling range feed fraction containing a renewable distillate component with ii) a mineral feed fraction (possibly corresponding to a whole or partial crude oil) that includes diesel boiling range compounds to form a blended composition. The blended composition can then be fractionated to form a jet boiling range product fraction and a diesel boiling range product fraction. Optionally, the resulting jet boiling range product fraction and/or diesel boiling range product fraction can be exposed to further processing, such as hydroprocessing or catalytic cracking.
Methods of whole crude and whole crude wide cut hydrotreating and dewaxing low hetroatom content petroleum
Methods of refining a whole crude oil stream. The methods involve first processing the crude either through a hydrotreating reactor comprising a dewaxing reactor bed or a flash evaporation separator. The treated streams are then further processed through a demetalization reactor bed, a hydroprocessing reactor bed, or both. The stream can then be still further processed via additional hydrotreating, distillation, or both.
BIOFUEL BLENDS WITH IMPROVED OXIDATION STABILITY AND LUBRICITY
A biofuel includes a mixture having a gasoil generated from hydropyrolysis and hydroconversion of a solid biomass containing lignocellulose and an isomerized hydroprocessed ester and fatty acid (HEFA) generated from hydrotreating a renewable resource having fats and oils. The gasoil has a cetane index less than 46 and at least 10 parts per million weight (ppmw) of a heteroatom and a cetane index of the biofuel is greater than 46.
BIOFUEL BLENDS
A biofuel includes a mixture of a gasoil generated from hydropyrolysis and hydroconversion of a solid biomass containing lignocellulose. The gasoil has a cetane index less than 46. The biofuel also includes a hydroprocessed ester fatty acid (HEFA) generated from hydrotreating a renewable resource having fats and oils. A cetane index of the biofuel is greater than 46.
ON-BOARD FUEL ADJUSTMENT BY MOLECULAR SEPARATION
An on-board fuel separation system includes a supply fuel tank configured to store an input fuel stream; a fuel separator fluidly coupled to the supply fuel tank and configured to separate the input fuel stream into a first fractional fuel stream and a second fractional fuel stream. The fuel separator includes a membrane that includes a plurality of pores sized based on a molecular size of one or more components of the first fractional fuel stream. The system includes a first fractional fuel tank fluidly coupled to the fuel separator to receive the first fractional fuel stream passed through the membrane and defined by a first auto-ignition characteristic value. The system includes a second fractional fuel stream coupled to the fuel separator to receive the second fractional fuel stream from the fuel separator that is defined by a second auto-ignition characteristic value that is different than the first auto-ignition characteristic value.
JET AND DIESEL SELECTIVE HYDROCRACKING
Systems and methods are provided for processing of challenged feedstocks to produce distillate fuel products, such as jet boiling range products and/or diesel boiling range products. The challenged feedstocks can have a high aromatics content, a low API gravity, and/or a low cetane index/cetane number. A feedstock can be processed to form distillate fuel products by processing the feedstock in reaction system including at least two stages. The first stage can perform an initial amount of hydrotreating and/or hydrocracking, while the second stage can include exposing a portion of the hydrotreated and/or hydrocracked effluent to a USY catalyst including a supported noble metal. The USY catalyst can have a desirable combination of catalyst properties. Processing a challenged feedstock in a second stage with the USY catalyst having a desirable combination of properties can allow for production of an increased yield of distillate fuel from the challenged feedstock.
Renewable hydrocarbon composition having good cetane number and good cold properties
A renewable hydrocarbon composition as disclosed includes monobranched isoparaffins, dibranched isoparaffins, tribranched isoparaffins multibranched isoparaffins, and n-paraffins, having carbon numbers from C8 to C30. Said renewable hydrocarbon composition has high cetane number and excellent cold properties. The renewable hydrocarbon composition can be used as diesel fuel or as a diesel fuel component.
