DENERVATION THERAPY
20190223955 · 2019-07-25 ·

Example systems and techniques for denervation, for example, renal denervation. In some examples, a processor determines one or more tissue characteristics of tissue proximate a target nerve and a blood vessel. The processor may generate, based on the one or more tissue characteristics, an estimated volume of influence of denervation therapy delivered by a therapy delivery device disposed within the blood vessel. The processor may generate a graphical user interface including a graphical representation of the tissue proximate the target nerve and the blood vessel and a graphical representation of the estimated volume of influence.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SURGICAL AND INTERVENTIONAL PLANNING, SUPPORT, POST-OPERATIVE FOLLOW-UP, AND FUNCTIONAL RECOVERY TRACKING

Various systems and methods are provided for surgical and interventional planning, support, post-operative follow-up, and functional recovery tracking. In general, a patient can be tracked throughout medical treatment including through initial onset of symptoms, diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment. In one embodiment, a patient and one or more medical professionals involved with treating the patient can electronically access a comprehensive treatment planning, support, and review system. The system can provide recommendations regarding diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment based on data gathered from the patient and the medical professional(s). The system can manage the tracking of multiple patients, thereby allowing for data comparison between similar aspects of medical treatments and for learning over time through continual data gathering, analysis, and assimilation to decision-making algorithms.

SYSTEMS, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS FOR LOCAL IMAGING AND TREATMENT OF PAIN

Pain factors are labeled with targeted agents or markers delivered into the body. The labeled pain factors are imaged with appropriate imaging tools in a manner allowing selective identification and localization of areas of pain source or transmission. The labeled pain factors allow spatial differentiation in the imaging sufficient to specify the location of the pain so as to drive therapeutic decisions and techniques in order to treat the pain. Pain factors labeled and imaged in this manner may include one or more of nerve factors, blood vessel factors, cellular factors, and inflammation factors. Labeled markers may include for example radioactive materials (e.g. tritiated or iodinated molecules) or other materials such as metal (e.g. gold) nanoparticles. Intermediary binding materials may be used, such as for example bi-specific antibodies.

Method and apparatus for preventing neurodegeneration

A method for treating, preventing and/or reducing neurodegeneration in subjects with neurodegenerative disease, such as those neurodegenerative diseases that affect the eye, including glaucoma, using radiation, such as gamma radiation or X-ray radiation, either alone or together with a bone marrow transfer treatment. The method includes irradiating a targeted area of an animal, such as the eye region, with radiation, either alone or followed by injection with T-cell depleted bone marrow cells. Also a method for screening and/or selecting agents and/or treatment methods for inhibiting, treating and/or reducing neurodegeneration, particularly the neurodegeneration of the eye that occurs as a consequence of glaucoma.

WEARABLE MEDICAL DETECTOR

Various embodiments of medical detector systems as well as their methods of operation are disclosed. In one embodiment, one or more detectors are coupled to wearable structures for detecting at least a first tracer within a body portion. In another embodiment, one or more detectors are coupled to a wearable structure, where the detector corresponds to a CMOS chip that directly detects a first radioactive tracer.

Device and Method for Identifying Anatomical Structures

A device is provided having a proximal portion and a distal portion. An ultrasound transducer is disposed within the distal portion, wherein the transducer is configured to scan tissue and detect certain portions of a patent's anatomy during the scanning process.

Identification Of Critical Findings In Imaging Scans

A method of reviewing neural scans includes receiving at least one landmark corresponding to an anatomical region. A plurality of images of tissue including the anatomical region is received and a neural network configured to differentiate between healthy tissue and unhealthy tissue within the anatomical region is generated. The neural network is generated by a machine learning process configured to receive the plurality of images of tissue and generate a plurality of weighting factors configured to differentiate between healthy tissue and unhealthy tissue. At least one patient image of tissue including the anatomical region is received and a determination is made by the neural network whether the at least one patient image of tissue includes healthy or unhealthy tissue.

A method to apply a nerve inhibiting cloud surrounding a blood vessel includes creating a treatment plan, wherein the treatment plan prescribes application of the nerve inhibiting cloud towards at least a majority portion of a circumference of a blood vessel wall, and applying the nerve inhibiting cloud towards the majority portion of the circumference of the blood vessel wall for a time sufficient to inhibit a function of a nerve that surrounds the blood vessel wall.

Body structure imaging

A method of medical image processing for images of body structures, comprising: receiving anatomical data to reconstruct an anatomical image of a region of a body of a patient, said region comprises a portion of at least one internal body part which borders or is spaced apart from a target tissue; receiving functional data from a functional imaging modality which images at least said portion of the region of the body of the patient; processing said anatomical image to generate at least one image mask corresponding to the zone outside of the wall of said at least one internal body part; correlating the at least one generated image mask with the functional data for guiding a reconstruction of a functional image depicting said target tissue; and providing the reconstructed functional image.
