THERMAL INTEGRATION IN SYNTHESIS GAS PRODUCTION BY PARTIAL OXIDATION
A process and a plant are proposed for producing a synthesis gas including hydrogen and carbon oxides by partial oxidation of carbon-containing fuel in the presence of an oxygen-containing oxidant and a moderator, wherein the obtained raw synthesis gas is laden with soot particles. According to the invention the cooling of the raw synthesis gas is carried out using a crossflow heat exchanger, a shell and tube heat exchanger or a spiral heat exchanger, wherein the carbon-containing input stream or the oxidant stream or the moderator stream or a plurality of these streams serve as the first coolant and are thus preheated before introduction into the partial oxidation plant.
Carbon-Based Fuel Gasification Power Generation System
A carbon-based fuel gasification power generation system is configured to remove ammonia from syngas using washing water, and effectively use the ammonia-containing washing water. The system includes a gasification facility provided with a water scrubber for removing ammonia in the syngas generated as gasified carbon-based fuel, and a power generation facility provided with a combustor for burning gas for combustion generated in the gasification facility and air for combustion humidified in the humidifying tower, and a gas turbine driven by combustion gas. The ammonia-containing water recovered in the water scrubber is supplied to the humidifying tower. Using the water, compressed air to be supplied to the combustor is humidified.
GAS COMBUSTION TREATMENT DEVICE, COMBUSTION TREATMENT METHOD, AND GAS PURIFICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING GAS COMBUSTION TREATMENT DEVICE
A gas combustion treatment device that subjects an ammonia-containing gas, a hydrogen cyanide-containing gas, and a hydrogen sulfide-containing gas to combustion treatment includes: a first combustion unit configured to introduce therein fuel, the ammonia-containing gas, the hydrogen cyanide-containing gas, and air and burn and reduce the fuel and the gases at an air ratio lower than 1; a second combustion unit provided downstream of the first combustion unit and configured to burn and reduce, in a reducing atmosphere, nitrogen oxide in a first combustion gas sent from the first combustion unit; and a third combustion unit provided downstream of the second combustion unit and configured to introduce therein hydrogen sulfide-containing gas with air in addition to a second combustion gas sent from the second combustion unit.
GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE
A gas purification device includes: a converter packed with a catalyst for hydrolyzing both carbonyl sulfide and hydrogen cyanide; an upstream heat exchanger for heat exchange between a gas to be introduced into the converter and a cooling fluid for cooling the gas; a reaction-temperature estimation member for estimating a reaction temperature inside the converter; and a flow-rate adjustment member for adjusting a flow rate of the cooling fluid flowing into the upstream heat exchanger based on an estimated value of the reaction-temperature estimation member to control the reaction temperature.
GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE
A gas purification device removes a part of ammonia contained in a first gas; recovers a first off-gas containing the removed ammonia, removes hydrogen sulfide and ammonia from a second gas produced by removing the part of ammonia, recovers a second off-gas containing the removed hydrogen sulfide and ammonia, and combusts the first off-gas and the second off-gas. The gas purification device includes: a first combustion chamber in which combustion is performed in a reducing atmosphere; a second combustion chamber in which combustion is performed in a reducing atmosphere downstream of the first combustion chamber; and a third combustion chamber in which combustion is performed in an oxidizing atmosphere downstream of the second combustion chamber. The first off-gas flows into the first combustion chamber and the second off-gas flows into the third combustion chamber.
Processes For Producing High Biogenic Concentration Fischer-Tropsch Liquids Derived From Municipal Solid Wastes (MSW) Feedstocks
Processes for producing high biogenic concentration Fischer-Tropsch liquids derived from the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes (MSW) feedstock that contains a relatively high concentration of biogenic carbon (derived from plants) and a relatively low concentration of non-biogenic carbon (derived from fossil sources) wherein the biogenic content of the Fischer-Tropsch liquids is the same as the biogenic content of the feedstock.
INTEGRATED PROCESS AND UNIT OPERATION FOR CONDITIONING A SOOT-CONTAINING SYNGAS
The present invention relates to a method for conditioning a soot-containing syngas stream in a single integrated apparatus containing a scrubbing vessel wherein particulate matter is decoupled from the waste water stream.
PROCESS FOR PURIFYING SYNGAS
The present invention relates to a process for the purification of raw syngas comprising the steps of (a) contacting the raw syngas with water to remove soot, resulting in a soot-rich waste water and a soot-lean syngas; (b) cooling the soot-lean syngas resulting from step (a) to a temperature in the range of from (20) to (50) C.; and (c) contacting the cooled soot-lean syngas resulting from step (b) with water to remove HCN and NH3 resulting in clean syngas and HCN/NH3-rich waste water, wherein: (i) in step (a) the raw syngas is cooled below its dew point by its contact with water; (ii) the HCN/NH3-rich waste water resulting from step (c) is passed through at least one stripping column resulting in a clean water stream and a waste stream; and (iii) at least 50% (v/v) part of the clean water stream is recycled to step (c).
