Oral appliance for delivery of medicaments and/or other substances
An oral appliance is provided for delivering a medicament to at least a portion of teeth and/or soft tissue areas inside a mouth. The oral appliance contains an interior surface having a medicament disposed in or on at least a portion of and/or the entire interior surface of the oral appliance. The interior surface of the oral cavity is formed to fit contours of at least the portion of the teeth and/or soft tissue areas inside the oral cavity and is configured for holding the medicament in contact with at least the portion of the teeth and/or soft tissue areas inside the oral cavity to deliver the medicament to strategic areas in need of treatment. In some embodiments, computer, network and computer readable storage media are provided.
Methods for taking an impression or scanning without requiring removal of a temporary healing abutment
Methods of taking an impression or scan of a patient's oral cavity without requiring removal of a healing cap coupled within the implant in the subgingival void. The method may include providing an anatomical healing cap received within the subgingival void of a given tooth position, where the anatomical healing cap is coupled into an implant in the void. A scanning body or an impression post is inserted into an open end (e.g., the hollow core) of the anatomical healing cap, in-situ, with the anatomical healing cap positioned in the subgingival void, and the implant thereunder (or thereover for a maxillary tooth position). The scanning body or impression post is used as a reference in making the impression or scan. Because this is done without requiring removal of the healing cap, further collapse of the gingival tissue surrounding the void is prevented.
Ct imaging apparatus
The invention relates, in particular, to structures of a dental and medical cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) apparatus. The basic construction of the apparatus includes two elongated frame parts (11, 21) out of which the first frame part (11) is arranged to support X-ray imaging means (14, 15) and wherein the frame parts (11, 21) are mechanically connected to each other via an articulated construction (22) so as to allow for tilting of the first frame part (11) supporting the X-ray imaging means (14, 15) with respect to the second frame part (21).
RADIATION SHIELDING EYE MASK
An eye mask apparatus for protecting a patient's eyes during dental or other radiography (i.e., x-rays) has an eye covering portion including a lead vinyl sheet. The lead vinyl sheet has a perimeter configured such that the lead vinyl sheet can completely cover a patient's eyes. The eye covering portion includes a first side and a second side. A trim portion extends around the perimeter, with the trim portion extending inward over a portion of the first side and the second side. A retaining band is coupled to the eye covering portion at a first attachment point and a second attachment point. The retaining band is configured to hold the eye covering portion against the patient's eyes when the mask is worn.
APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING PROJECTION ANGLE OF DENTAL PERIAPICAL RADIOGRAPHY AND METHOD OF USING SAME
An apparatus for determining a projection angle of dental periapical radiography includes a body, an angle measuring member, an imaging locator and a projection indicator. The body is a circular cylinder, and the angle measuring member is provided on a top or bottom surface of the body. The imaging locator is detachably coupled to the body, and the projection indicator is pivotally coupled to the body. It operates based on a protractor-assisted projection technique and can avoid ambiguities associated with the angle-bisecting projection technique and operating difficulties associated with the paralleling projection technique. Moreover, it can reduce imaging repetitions and can be easily applied to teaching and professional education due to its ease of understanding and implementation.

METHOD OF DESIGNING AND FABRICATING PATIENT-SPECIFIC RESTORATIONS FROM INTRA-ORAL SCANNING OF A DIGITAL IMPRESSION COPING
Taking a digital implant or abutment level digital impression by means of intra-oral, computed tomography or other imaging method provides the restorative doctor and laboratory accurate and effective data for determining the implant position, angulation and locking feature orientation without a physical impression. Such data is correlated with a digital library to produce an output which enables design and fabrication of an accurate restorative device such as a prosthetic tooth or crown. In this way the time-consuming, costly and error prone mechanical replication of the relevant dental anatomy is obviated.
DENTAL IMAGING SYSTEM UTILIZING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
A system and a method for training and utilizing deep convolutional neural networks to perform diagnostic and image enhancement operations on images of dentition uses digital images and other auxiliary parameters as inputs for a convolutional neural network. The neural network can output a tooth segmentation map, tooth identifiers, a probability map indicating the presence of caries, cavities or other dental anomalies/conditions, and recommended parameters for use in image enhancement algorithms.
Radiation detector
Disclosed herein is a detector, comprising: a radiation absorption layer comprising an electric contact; a filter electrically connected to the electric contact and configured to attenuate signals from the electric contact below a first cutoff frequency; an integrator electrically connected to the filter and configured to integrate signals from the filter over a period of time.
Method of producing adaptive element for dental implantation
A method for producing an adaptive element for dental implantation includes: creating a 3D virtual model including a crown part and a root part; obtaining a boundary curve between the crown part and the root part; defining a boundary plane on the root part perpendicular to a vertical axis of the 3D virtual model and spaced apart from the boundary curve; projecting the boundary curve on the boundary plane in a direction parallel to the vertical axis; generating a tubular model having a predetermined thickness based on the boundary curve, a virtual surface connected from the boundary curve to the cutting plane, and the cutting plane; and producing the adaptive element according to the tubular model.
