The present invention provides a catalytic fast pyrolysis process for the production of fuel blendstocks and chemicals. In addition, the invention provides compositions of renewable blendstocks, compositions of renewable fuel blends, and compositions of 100 percent renewable fuels compatible with gasoline specifications and regulations.

Chemical Warfare Agents And Related Compounds As Fuel For Internal Combustion Engines

Technologies for combusting hazardous compounds such as chemical warfare agents and related compounds are disclosed. In embodiments, the technologies include systems and methods for combusting such compounds in an internal combustion engine, such as a spark ignition internal combustion engine, a diesel engine, or the like. The technologies described herein further include components for treating an exhaust gas stream produced by combustion of hazardous compounds. In embodiments such components include a scrubber that utilizes a scrubbing media such as soil to removing acid gases from the exhaust stream.

Combustion process

A combustion process wherein a fuel, a comburent and a component B), sulphur or sulphur containing compounds, are fed to the combuster in an amount to have a molar ratio B/A.sup.I0.5, wherein: B is the sum by moles between the amount of sulphur present in component B)+the amount of sulphur (component B.sup.II)) contained in the fuel, A.sup.I is the sum by moles between the amount of alkaline and/or alkaline-earth metals (component A.sup.II)) contained in the fuel+the amount of the alkaline and/or alkaline earth metals (component A)) in the form of salts and/or oxides contained in component B), being the combustor isothermal and flameless.

Natural fuel additive and premium fuel comprising the same

An additive composition for liquid fuels is provided. The additive composition comprises water, one or more mineral salts, a polyol compound, an alcohol and a surfactant. The additive composition can be added to liquid fuels such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene and mazut to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The composition can be prepared from all natural materials.

Material consisting of a preparation comprising ferrocene

The invention relates to a material consisting of a preparation made from a mixture of ferrocene and an inert flameproof material such as plaster, the material being presented in the form of granules and being suitable for spreading over a hydrocarbon fire in a simple and rapid manner such that, under the effect of the heat from the fire, the ferrocene contained in the granulated material is diffused progressively and homogeneously in a vapor phase over the base of the flames, so as to optimize the combustion of the hydrocarbon and to reduce the emission of smoke and unwanted particles.

PROCESSES, GAS TURBINE PROCESSES, AND FUEL COMPOSITIONS

A gas turbine process includes supplying a fuel to a gas turbine, combusting the fuel in the gas turbine with a hot gas path temperature reaching at least 1100 C. during operation of the gas turbine, and supplying an inhibition composition including at least one yttrium-containing inorganic compound to interact with the vanadium and inhibit vanadium hot corrosion in the gas turbine caused by vanadium as a fuel impurity in the fuel. A process includes supplying an inhibition composition including at least one yttrium-containing inorganic compound to a hot gas path or a combustor of a gas turbine. A fuel composition includes a fuel including at least one fuel impurity including vanadium and an inhibition composition including at least one yttrium-containing compound. An atomic ratio of yttrium to vanadium in the fuel composition is in a range of 1 to 1.5.
