Lubricants Having Improved Low Temperature, Oxidation, And Deposit Control Performance
A method for producing a deposit resistant fluid includes combining a base stock and one or more additives to form a blended fluid configured to maintain fluidity in a low temperature environment and to resist forming deposits in an oxidizing environment. The base stock has a viscosity index of at least 80, and either a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of at least 320 cSt or a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of at least 14 cSt. The base stock includes greater than or equal to about 90 wt % saturates, less than or equal to about 10 wt % aromatics, and a sum of terminal/pendant propyl groups and terminal/pendant ethyl groups of at least 1.7 per 100 carbon atoms.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A POLYALPHAOLEFIN
Lubricating oil compositions are disclosed. The lubricating oil compositions include one or more base oils (A) containing one or more polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oils derived at least in part from a C.sub.12 olefin. The lubricating oil compositions further include from about 65 wt. % to about 85 wt. %, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition, of one or more base oils (B) having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of from about 3.0 cSt to about 5.5 cSt; and from about 0.1 wt. % to about 10 wt. %, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition, of a succinimide dispersant.

Lubricants with improved seal compatibility
The present invention relates to lubricating compositions and particularly gear oil compositions that include a specific class of substituted triazoles, where the substituted triazole includes at least one hydrocarbyl group linked to one of the nitrogen atoms in the triazole ring. Such compositions provide surprisingly good seal compatibility compared to compositions with other triazoles and/or alternative additives.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR LIMITING FRICTION
The present application relates to a lubricant composition comprising, in relation to the total weight of the lubricant composition at least one base oil; 0.005 to 10% by weight of at least one polymeric organic friction modifier; and 0.005 to 10% by weight of at least one ester said polymeric organic friction modifier is a compound of formula (I):
R.sup.1.[(AO).sub.n.-AO—R.sup.2].sub.m (I)
wherein R.sup.1 is a residue of a group having at least m hydrogen atoms, m being greater than 2; AO is an alkylene oxide residue; n is between 0 and 100; R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or a C—(O)—R.sup.3 group with R.sup.3 being a residue.
Fire-Resistant Hydraulic Fluids
A synthetic and semi-synthetic fire-resistant hydraulic fluid compositions are disclosed. According to one preferred embodiment, the composition may include water, a hydrophilic co-solvent, an oil, a lubricant, a neutralizing agent, a non-ionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant. Optionally, the compositions may further include a corrosion inhibitor, an anti-foaming agent and a biocide.
Associative and exchangeable oligomers, and composition containing same
A composition is obtained by mixing at least one oligomer A1, which is obtained by copolymerizing at least two monomers functionalized by diol functions with at least one second monomer, with at least one compound A2 having at least two boron ester functions. The compositions exhibit very varied rheological properties depending on the proportion of the compounds A1 and A2 used. A composition is also obtained by mixing at least one lubricating oil with such a composition of associative and exchangeable polymers, and the use of this composition to lubricate a mechanical part.
