Systems and methods for mechanical displacement of an esophagus
An example assembly for use with a vacuum system and an esophageal positioning device esophageal positioning device includes an introducer, in which the esophageal positioning device includes a handle, a first segment, a second segment and an articulation driving mechanism. The first segment being coupled to the handle. The second segment being pivotally connected to the first segment. The articulation driving mechanism being configured to pivot the second segment about the first segment upon articulation.
ACOUSTIC REFLECTOMETRY DEVICE IN CATHETERS
A device and method for verifying the proper position of catheters in the body by means of acoustic reflectometry, the device including a sound source, one or more sound receivers, a tube with compliant walls and open distal end to be introduced through an entrance to a body cavity, the sound source and receiver(s) coupled to the proximal end of the tube, a processor for causing the sound source to generate an acoustic excitation signal, the processor processing the acoustic signals sensed by the sound receiver(s) and generating an approximation of the acoustic impulse response of the tube, and the processor analyzing the acoustic impulse response to determine the position of the tube in the body cavity.
OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA PATIENT PROGRAMMER FOR IMPLANTABLE DEVICES
An implantable neurostimulator system including an electrical lead having formed thereon a pair of bipolar electrodes, the electrical lead is configured for placement of the pair of bipolar electrodes proximate protrusor muscles of a patient. The system also includes a pulse generator electrically connected to the electrical lead and configured to deliver electrical energy to the pair of bipolar electrodes, the pulse generator having mounted therein a sensor configured to detect one or more physiological parameters, a memory, a control circuit, and a telemetry circuit. The system also including a communications telemetry module (CTM) in communication with the telemetry circuit and configured to receive a data collected by the sensor and data related to delivery of electrical energy to the bipolar electrodes, and an external programmer in communication with the CTM and configured to display a user interface the data collected by the sensor and data related to delivery of electrical energy to the bipolar electrodes.
AV synchrony with a ventricular leadless pacemaker using varying ventricular measures
An implantable pacemaker is configured to provide electrical pacing pulses to the heart of a patient. The pacemaker has a pulse generator configured to generate the electrical pacing pulses, at least one pacing electrode to apply the electrical pacing pulses to the heart, a sensing unit configured to sense events of electrical activity of a ventricle of the heart, a sensor configured to measure a signal relating to the patient, and a memory configured to store values of a parameter. The pacemaker is configured to be operated in a first mode to generate a reference curve and to select a target range of values of the parameter corresponding to a desired range of atrioventricular delays. The pacemaker is further configured to be operated in a second mode for approaching the target range.
Oral suction device
An oral suction device includes a suction catheter having a suction portion at a first end, a sponge surrounding the suction portion, a hydrogel or non-hydrogel polymer coating on the sponge, and a suction tubing connector on a second end opposite the first end. In some aspects the coating is a hydrogel coating that does not have macropores. A method of making an oral suction device may include dip-coating a sponge and forming macropores in the coating during the coating process.
Invasive sense measurement in prosthesis installation
A system and method for allowing any surgeon, including those surgeons who perform a fewer number of a replacement procedure as compared to a more experienced surgeon who performs a greater number of procedures, to provide an improved likelihood of a favorable outcome approaching, if not exceeding, a likelihood of a favorable outcome as performed by a very experienced surgeon with the replacement procedure. Force sensing is included to aid in quantifying installation of an implant, particularly a cup into a pelvic bone.
Systems and methods for quantifying duration of heart sounds
Systems and methods for quantifying the duration of S1 and/or S2 heart sounds, in order to identify markers of heart failure and/or lung failure, are provided. Cardiac cycles containing S1 and S2 sound can be identified in a phonocardiogram and normalized. In order to quantify S1 and S2 sound length, the envelope of the absolute value of the signal can be obtained for each cycle. The sound waves of two components can be separated using the identified single sound wave. These features can be correlated to measures of heart failure and/or lung failure.

SYSTEM FOR INTRAORAL MONITORING AND RELATED METHODS THEREOF
An intraoral monitoring device includes a flexible substrate, a plurality of sensors, a rechargeable battery, a device module and a communication module. The plurality of sensors senses a plurality of health parameters from an associated user, in real time, to generate a plurality of sensed signals. The device module includes a memory, a controller and a segregation module. The memory stores various health parameters and their respective ranges, various health reports of the user, and basic details of all users. A controller is configured to generate sensed data and the segregation module is configured to segregate the data corresponding to the plurality of health parameters associated with the users. A communication module is configured to enable data communication to and from the intraoral device.
