LUBRICANT FORMULATIONS WITH ENHANCED ANTI-WEAR AND EXTREME PRESSURE PERFORMANCE
A lubricant formulation contains: (a) greater than 50 weight-percent hydrocarbon base oil; (b) 5 weight-percent or more and less than 50 weight-percent of one or a combination of more than one oil soluble polyalkylene glycol selected from a group consisting of monol, diol and triol initiated 1,2-butylene oxide homopolymers and monol initiated copolymers of 1,2-butylene oxide and propylene oxide; (c) 0.1 weight-percent or more and 5 weight-percent or less of sulfurized olefin; and (d) 0.1 weight-percent or more and 2 weight-percent or less of phosphate ester; where weight-percent is relative to total lubricant formulation weight.
LUBRICANT WITH SULFUR-CONTAINING POLYALKYLENE GLYCOL
A fluid contains a base oil and an antioxidant, the base oil consisting of sulfur-containing polyalkylene glycol where greater than 80 weight-percent of the fluid is a sulfur-containing polyalkylene glycol and less than one weight-percent of the fluid is water, with weight percent based on total fluid weight an wherein the sulfur-containing polyalkylene glycol is free of oxygen bound directly to sulfur.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS FOR PREVENTING OR REDUCING PRE-IGNITION IN AN ENGINE
Disclosed is the use of a lubricating composition including at least one base oil and at least one polyalkylene glycol (PAG) produced by polymerisation or copolymerisation of alkylene oxides including between 3 and 8 carbon atoms, at least one of which being a butylene oxide, for preventing or reducing pre-ignition in an engine, preferably in a vehicle engine.
LUBRICATION OF TRANSFER PLATES USING AN OIL OR OIL IN WATER EMULSIONS
This disclosure relates to transfer plate lubricant compositions and methods of transporting open containers across stationary transfer plates.
Use of a polyalkylene glycol to reduce fuel consumption
The use of a polyalkylene glycol of formula HO-(A-O).sub.p(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.m-(A-O).sub.qH wherein A is a C.sub.3- to C.sub.20-alkylene group or a mixture of such alkylene groups, m is a number of from 2 to 100 and p and q are each numbers of from 1 to 100, as an additive in a fuel.
Novel AminoBisPhosphonate Antiwear Additives
The present invention relates to novel aminobisphosphonate compounds useful as antiwear and/or friction modifier additive components, lubricant additive compositions and lubricant compositions each comprising such compounds, and methods for making and using the same.
Lubricant composition
A lubricant composition comprising from 75 to 95 percent by weight polyalphaolefin base oil; and from 7.5 to 25 percent by weight oil soluble polyalkylene glycol (OSP) additive, wherein the polyalkylene glycol has a viscosity at 40 C. from 15 cSt to 50 cSt and comprises units derived from propylene oxide and units derived from butylene oxide; wherein the lubricant composition exhibits a four ball EP weld load result of at least 160 kg and an air release value at 75 C. of less than 3 minutes is provided.
ENHANCED EXTREME PRESSURE LUBRICANT FORMULATIONS
A lubricant formulation contains: (a) at least 50 weight-percent hydrocarbon base oil; (b) five to 50 weight-percent of an oil soluble polyalkylene glycol selected from monol, diol and triol initiated 1,2-butylene oxide homopolymer and monol initiated copolymers of 1,2-butylene oxide and propylene oxide; and (c) 0.1 to five weight-percent or less of a sulfurized olefin; where weight-percent is based on total lubricant formulation weight.
Lubrication of transfer plates using an oil or oil in water emulsions
This disclosure relates to transfer plate lubricant compositions and methods of transporting open containers across stationary transfer plates.
Multifunctional lubricant additive and selection method
A blend for lubricating a surface includes a lubricant and a polyepoxide terpolymer additive mixed with the lubricant. The polyepoxide terpolymer additive includes a first block having a group R1, a second block having a group R2, and a third block having a group R3. Group R1 includes C.sub.4H.sub.9 or C.sub.6H.sub.13, group R2 includes CH.sub.3, and group R3 includes C.sub.6H.sub.5.
