Surface Protective Agent Composition, Electric Connection Structure Using Same, and Method for Manufacturing Electric Connection Structure

To provide a surface protective agent composition that suppresses corrosion of members of different kinds of metals close to each other due to corrosion current between the metals of the members, and to provide an electric connection structure and a method for producing an electric connection structure using the same. The surface protective agent composition contains (a) a lubricant base oil; (b) a prescribed amount of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of particular phosphorus compounds and a metal salt or an amine salt thereof; and (c) a prescribed amount of an amide compound, and in the case where the component (b) does not contain the metal salt of the phosphorus compound, the surface protective agent composition further contains (d) a prescribed amount of a salicylate of a particular metal and/or a basic (or perbasic) salt thereof, and the electric connection structure containing a surface protective layer consisting of the surface protective agent composition.

METAL SURFACE COATING COMPOSITION AND TERMINAL-EQUIPPED COVERED ELECTRICAL WIRE USING SAME
20170062954 · 2017-03-02 ·

A composition for a metal surface coating that does not require a posttreatment such as heating, has flexibility to be able to follow deformation of a member to be coated, hardly peels off from a metal surface, and can be used for the purpose of corrosion protection, and a terminal-equipped covered electric wire using the same. The composition contains an adduct and a base oil. The adduct contains an acidic phosphate ester consisting of one or more kinds of compounds represented by General Formulae (1) and (2), and a metal, P(O)(OR.sub.1)(OH).sub.2 . . . (1), P(O)(OR.sub.1).sub.2(OH) . . . (2), where R.sub.1 represents a hydrocarbon group having 4 to 30 carbon atoms.

Friction modifiers for lubricating oils

A lubricating oil comprises a major amount of a base oil and a minor amount of an additive package, and the additive package comprises at least one friction modifier of formula I: ##STR00001##
where R is a linear or branched, saturated, unsaturated, or partially saturated hydrocarbyl having about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms or R is represented by: ##STR00002##
and R.sub.1 is a linear or branched, saturated, unsaturated, or partially saturated hydrocarbyl having about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl having about 1 to about 2 carbon atoms. Methods of using the lubricating oil to improve thin film and/or boundary layer friction in an engine are also disclosed.

AQUEOUS COMPOSITION FOR LUBRICATING AND/OR COOLING A PROPULSION SYSTEM OF AN ELECTRIC OR HYBRID VEHICLE
20250263627 · 2025-08-21 ·

The present application concerns the use, for cooling and/or lubricating a propulsion system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, of an aqueous lubricating composition comprising at least: water and a polyalkylene glycol; the said aqueous lubricating composition comprising a phosphate ester salt(s) content of strictly less than 0.1% by mass, relative to the total mass of the said composition.

It also relates to the use of such an aqueous lubricant composition to reduce pitting by mechanical fatigue of the mechanical part(s) of an electric or hybrid vehicle propulsion system which is (are) brought into contact with the said composition.

Lastly, it relates to an aqueous lubricating composition for lubricating and/or cooling an electric or hybrid propulsion system, comprising: at least 45% by mass of water, relative to the total mass of the composition, and a polyalkylene glycol; the said composition comprising a phosphate ester salt(s) content of strictly less than 0.1% by mass, relative to the total mass of the said composition.

Polyacrylic acid containing lubricious coatings for medical devices with enhanced properties

Embodiments herein relate to polyacrylic acid containing lubricious coatings for medical devices. In an embodiment, a lubricious coated medical device is included having a substrate and a first layer disposed over the substrate. The first layer can include a photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone, a non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone, and a crosslinking compound. A second layer can be disposed over the first layer, the second layer can include a poly(acrylic acid), and a non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone. The non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone of the second layer forms a complex with the poly(acrylic acid) of the second layer. The non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone of the second layer has a concentration existing as a gradient through a thickness of the second layer with a lower concentration at an outer surface of the second layer than at an inner surface of the second layer. Other embodiments are also included herein.
