Robust, simple, and efficiently manufacturable transducer array
A transducer array for ultrasound applications includes a plurality of transducer elements that are provided with self-aligned connections to a flexible cable. The array is easy to manufacture and suited for wearable, wireless, and other small ultrasound devices. A simple and efficient method of producing a robust transducer array involves at least partially separating the transducer elements after their connection to their respective conductors.
ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSIS APPARATUS, MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING THEREIN MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM
An ultrasound diagnosis apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry and a display. The processing circuitry generates, from ultrasound data, pieces of low and high frequency data corresponding to resolutions of gradual degrees, extracts pieces of negative high frequency data over a range of predetermined resolutions, from the pieces of high frequency data, restores the resolution of first addition data so as to be equal to the resolution of the ultrasound data before reduction, the first addition data being obtained by adding up the pieces of negative high frequency data while causing resolutions to match over the range of the predetermined resolutions, and generates a combined image on the basis of the restored first addition data and the ultrasound data. The display displays the combined image.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR GUIDING A USER TO COLLECT ULTRASOUND IMAGES
Aspects of the present application provide methods and apparatus for directing operation of an ultrasound device. Some aspects provide various instructions to a user of the ultrasound device, automatically detect when the user has completed a step based on ultrasound images collected by the ultrasound device, and automatically transitioning to providing an instruction for a following step. The instructions may relate to positioning of the ultrasound device and application of an ultrasound coupling medium, in some embodiments.
Image-guided transseptal puncture device
Provided herein is a catheter assembly including an imaging device for identifying an anatomical structure. The catheter assembly includes a patient cannula configured to be drawn along a catheter or guide wire; a transseptal puncture catheter at least partially enclosed within the patient cannula; and an imaging catheter. The imaging catheter includes a transducer configured to emit an energy beam capable of reflecting from an anatomical structure and to detect energy reflected from the structure. The catheter assembly also includes a transmitter for conveying a signal representative of the detected energy from the transducer to a signal processor for obtaining information about the structure. An imagining system and a method for identifying a predetermined transseptal puncture location on an atrial septum are also provided herein.
High performance handheld ultrasound
A handheld ultrasound device may comprise components configured to provide decreased size, weight, complexity, and power consumption. The handheld ultrasound device may comprise a beamformer configured to implement and compress a flag table in place of a delay table. These improvements can decrease the amount of memory used to generate ultrasound images, which can decrease the size, weight, and power consumption of the handheld ultrasound device. Ultrasound image data on a handheld imaging probe can be compressed on the handheld imaging probe prior to transmission from the probe in order to decrease the amount of data transmitted from the probe. The compressed data may comprise compressed pixels to maintain spatial image resolution. The compression circuitry may comprise an amount of memory related to a dynamic range of the compressed data that is independent of the dynamic range of the input data, which can decrease memory, power consumption, and latencies.
AEROSOLIZED COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MITOCHONDRIA AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
This disclosure pertains to pharmaceutical compositions of aerosolized compositions containing mitochondria, methods of preparing and using the compositions, and devices for administering the compositions.
Ultrasound Imaging Probe With Improved Heat Dissipation
An ultrasound imaging device or probe includes a tip having a heat conducting exterior housing within which an imaging element is positioned. The imaging element is engaged with a heat sink formed of an electrically insulating material that also has high thermal conductivity. The heat sink contacts and extends through and electrically insulating enclosure within which the imaging element is disposed. As a result, the heat generated by the imaging element can be readily conducted to the ambient environment via the heat sink and heat conductive exterior housing while also enabling the imaging element and other electrical components to be electrically insulated from the housing.
Grating lobe artefact minimization for ultrasound images and associated devices, systems, and methods
Ultrasound imaging system, devices, and methods for minimizing grating lobe artefacts in an ultrasound image are provided. For example, an ultrasound imaging system can include an array of acoustic elements and a processor in communication with the array. The processor controls the array to activate a plurality of apertures and subapertures in a scan sequence, generate an image comprising a plurality of pixels, identify at least one subaperture of the plurality of subapertures corresponding to a reduced signal value for one or more pixels of the image, and generate a grating-lobe-minimized image based on the identified subapertures. The grating-lobe-minimized image can be output to a display or combined with the original ultrasound image to include image features lost or reduced in the grating-lobe-minimized image. The grating-lobe-minimized image advantageously reduces image artefacts and clutter to simplify ultrasound image analysis and diagnosis procedures.
Automatically identifying anatomical structures in medical images in a manner that is sensitive to the particular view in which each image is captured
A facility for processing a medical imaging image is described. The facility applies to the image a first machine learning model trained to recognize a view to which an image corresponds, and a second machine learning model trained to identify any of a set of anatomical features visualized in an image. The facility accesses a list of permitted anatomical features for images corresponding to the recognized view, and filters the identified anatomical features to exclude any not on the accessed list. The facility causes the accessed image to be displayed, overlaid with a visual indication of each of the filtered identified anatomical features.
CARDIAC PHASE GATING SYSTEM FOR RADIATION THERAPY
Systems and techniques for reliably predicting a motion phase for non-invasive treatment of the heart. The system and methods may account for both respiratory and cardiac cycles in characterizing the motion of the heart relative to the irradiation source. The system and methods may also include a heartbeat sensor that provides an independent reference indication of the cardiac phase to provide real-time or near real-time quality assurance of a current predicted phase indication. The disclosed system and methods may be configured for use in one of two modes: “beam-gating” and “beam-tracking”. For beam-gating, the predicted cardiac phase is compared to the desired gating window, based on the patient-specific treatment plan, to determine if a gate ON or gate OFF signal should be set. For beam-tracking, the predicted cardiac phase is used to load the appropriate beam parameters based on the patient-specific and motion phase-dependent treatment plans.
