AGENT FOR FORMING SOLID LUBRICATING COATING FILM, OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR GOODS, THREADED JOINT FOR OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR GOODS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR GOODS

A solid lubricating coating film capable of imparting favorable lubricity and corrosion resistance to a connection for oil country tubular goods. Two or more solid lubricants are dispersed in a binder resin. Graphite is contained in an amount of 50% or more and 90% or less of a total weight of the solid lubricants, and the graphite has a scaly shape and an average particle diameter of 10.0 ?m or less. A solid lubricant made of one or more materials selected from BN, mica, talc, MCA, MoS.sub.2, PTFE, PFA, and FEP is further contained as other solid lubricants of the two or more types of solid lubricants. The binder resin contains a PEEK resin having an average particle diameter of 20 ?m or less as a main component, and the PEEK resin is contained in an amount of 70% or more of a total weight of the binder resin.

Lubrication material using self-dispersed crumpled graphene balls as additives in oil for friction and wear reduction

A method for forming a lubrication material using self-dispersed crumpled graphene balls as additives in a lubricant base fluid for friction and wear reduction. The lubricant base fluid may be, for example, a polyalphaolefin type-4 (PAO4) oil. After the crumpled graphene balls are added as additives in the lubricant base fluid, the lubricant base fluid with the additives are sonicated for a sonicating time period, so that the crumpled graphene balls are self-dispersed in the lubricant base fluid to improve friction and wear properties of the lubricant base fluid. In some cases, a dispersing agent, such as Triethoxysilane, may be added in the lubricant base fluid to enhance stability of dispersion of the crumpled graphene balls in the lubricant base fluid. The crumpled graphene balls may stay stably dispersed in the lubricant base fluid between a lower temperature (such as 15 C.) to a higher temperature (such as 90 C.).

Embodiments of the present invention may include a macro-composition with a special structure. The structure includes a layered macro-composition made of a nanoparticle as an inner nucleus, an intermediate layer around the nucleus, and an outer layer intercalated with the nucleus or encapsulating the nucleus and the intermediate layer. A plurality of the layered macro-compositions is bonded together by bonds, so that each layered macro-composition is bonded to at least one other such layered macro-composition. Embodiments include a macro-composition made of three 3-layered macro-compositions joined in a chain by two bonds. These macro-composition assemblies may take the shape of layered macro-compositions bonded together in chains, or forming other shapes, such as rings. The layered macro-composition may be no more than about 100 nanometers in size, for example. The bonds of the complex macro-composition may have an average length of no more than about 100 nanometers, for example. Embodiments may be added to lubricants such as oil or grease, to increase their performance.

Solid dry-type lubricant

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a dry-type lubricant for use in a dry product hopper to help improve dry product flow and to improve anti-jamming properties of the dry product. The example lubricant can comprise a hydrophilic fiber, such as cellulose, having a width to length aspect ratio that provides a thin fiber. A plurality of hydrophobic particles are deposited on the surface of the fiber, resulting in a fiber surface exhibiting amphiphobic properties. Further, the fiber can operably absorb water, and then releases the absorbed water to the surface of the fiber under mechanical stress, such as when mixed with a product in a hopper. This can result in the water being disposed on the surface of the fiber, to provide lubrication to a product in a hopper to improve flow and anti-jamming characteristics of the product in the hopper.

Provided is a grease containing a base oil and a hydrophilic nanofiber, the hydrophilic nanofiber having a thickness (d) of 0.01 to 500 nm being dispersed therein. The grease is low in an environmental load and excellent in safety on the human body and also has an appropriate worked penetration and has a high dropping point, and therefore, it is also excellent in heat resistance.
