Oxa-Macrocyclic Musk as Fragrance Compounds
The invention is in the field of fragrances and relates to novel oxa-macrocyclic fragrance compounds according to general formula (I) with a musk-based note and improved biological degradability and further with improved chemical stabilities. The invention also relates to methods for preparing these compounds. Furthermore, the present invention also relates to fragrance compositions comprising one or more of the inventive compounds. Moreover, the invention relates to the use of these compounds or fragrance compositions as an odorant or for improving the fixation of a fragrance compound or a fragrance composition as well as for the preparation of a perfumed product. The present invention relates to the use of compositions comprising 4-isopropyl-1-methyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol or specific esters or ethers thereof and 3-isopropyl-6-methyl-cyclohex-2-en-1-one, or of 4-isopropyl-1-methyl-7-oxabic yclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol or specific esters or ethers thereof as aroma chemicals or for modifying and/or enhancing the aroma of a composition. The invention relates moreover to compositions comprising 4-isopropyl-1-methyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol or specific esters or ethers thereof and 3-isopropyl-6-methyl-cyclohex-2-en-1-one, to specific compositions comprising 4-isopropyl-1-methyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol, and to specific esters or ethers of 4-isopropyl-1-methyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol.
Powdery, musky odorant macrocycles
Described herein is a composition of matter including a) 0.5 to 85% w/w of (Z)-oxacyclohexadec-12-en-2-one; b) 0.5 to 30% w/w of (E)-oxacyclohexadec-12-en-2-one; c) 0 to 30% w/w of (E)-oxacyclohexadec-13-en-2-one; and d) 0.5 to 85% w/w of (Z)-oxacyclohexadec-13-en-2-one, the percentage being relative to the total weight of the composition of matter; wherein the weight ratio of the E-diastereoisomers to the Z-diastereoisomers is in the range between 40:60 and 15:85.
