The compositions can be in the form of liquid fabric softeners that can be configured to substantially avoid build-up on treated fabrics. In particular, the compositions can comprise predominately water and at least a conditioning agent, such as a polymeric quaternary ammonium salt, that will provide conditioning and softening effects to a treated fabric without leaving behind undesired build-up. The compositions optionally may include further components, such as anti-static agents, chlorine scavengers, preservatives, and acidifying agents.

This invention relates to a process for preparing an inverse emulsion comprising mixing an aqueous solution comprising a water-soluble (co)polymer A synthesized from at least one cationic monomer and an inverse EMI 2 emulsion comprising a water-soluble (co)polymer B synthesized from at least one cationic monomer, optionally followed by distillation. This invention also relates to the inverse emulsion thus obtained, a detergent or cosmetic or softening composition comprising such an inverse emulsion, as well as the use of such an inverse emulsion to improve the softening properties of a fabric softening composition.

CONCENTRATED LIQUID ESTERQUAT COMPOSITIONS

Clear, stable concentrated liquid compositions are disclosed that comprise from 30% to 90% by weight of an esterquat active, and from 10% to 50% by weight of a particular solvent system. The esterquat active is the quaternized reaction product of a fatty acyl source having an Iodine Value of 40 to 130 reacted with an alkanolamine at a fatty acyl to alkanolamine molar ratio of 1.0:1 to 2.2:1. The concentrated liquid compositions have a VOC content of less than 5%, a Biorenewable Carbon Index (BCI) of at least 20 and a viscosity of less than 5000 cP at 25° C. The concentrated liquid compositions can be easily diluted in water to form stable aqueous dispersions.

FABRIC CARE COMPOSITION WITH DELIVERY PARTICLES
