SYNERGISTIC Zn/PHENOLIC SOLVENT FORMULATIONS FOR SANITIZATION AND ODOR CONTROL IN LAUNDRY

Treatment compositions for use in laundry capable of providing sanitization through the wash e.g., for use with a detergent, where the compositions include an inorganic zinc salt potentiated by a phenolic solvent, to provide sanitization. The compositions can include an inorganic zinc salt, and a phenolic solvent, e.g., at an acidic pH (e.g., 2 to 5, or 3.5 to 4.5). The composition can include an anionic surfactant (e.g., alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates, etc.) and/or a nonionic surfactant (e.g., an alkyl polyglucoside). The composition may be free of alkoxylated nonionic surfactants which are not stable in the present compositions, which have high ionic strength (e.g., due to ˜3% of the zinc salt included in the formula). The composition may be free of various other components that would not be stable in such high ionic strength conditions, or otherwise interfere with stability and efficacy of the sanitizing and/or disinfecting laundry composition.

Unit dose detergent pack including a liquid detergent composition with improved color stability

A unit dose detergent pack is disclosed. The unit dose detergent pack includes a pouch formed from a water-soluble film and a liquid detergent composition releasably disposed within the pouch. The liquid detergent composition includes an alkanolamine, an acid, a copolymer formed from first and second monomers with the first monomer being diallyldimethylammonium chloride (DADMAC), and an alkali metal sulfite or bisulfite. The copolymer and the alkali metal sulfite or bisulfite interact with at least one of the alkanolamine and the acid to reduce discoloration of the liquid detergent composition.

ANHYDROUS AUTODISH FORMULATION

A method of washing glassware is provided including: providing automatic dishwashing apparatus; providing soiled glassware; placing soiled glassware in automatic dishwashing apparatus; providing wash water; providing rinse water; selecting anhydrous mixed powder or mixed granule comprising: 2.5-5 wt % of oxidized maltodextrin, wherein oxidized maltodextrin has Degree of Oxidation of 0.4-1.7; 10-25 wt % of amino acid based builder; 20-75 wt % of additional builder, wherein additional builder includes at least one of sodium citrate, sodium carbonate and sodium percarbonate; 2.5-7.5 wt % of bleach activator; 0.5-10 wt % of nonionic surfactant; 0.5-1 wt % of phosphonate; 1-6 wt % of enzyme; 5-15 wt % of filler; and <1 wt % water; placing selected anhydrous mixed powder or mixed granule in automatic dishwashing apparatus; contacting selected anhydrous mixed powder or mixed granule with wash water to form combination; contacting soiled glassware with combination to provide treated glassware; and then contacting treated glassware with rinse water to provide cleaned glassware.

Liquid hand dishwashing cleaning composition comprising linear and branched alkyl anionic surfactant mixture

The present invention relates to a liquid hand dishwashing cleaning composition including a surfactant system, wherein the surfactant system includes an anionic surfactant and a co-surfactant, wherein the anionic surfactant includes a mixture of a linear anionic surfactant and a branched anionic surfactant with a defined degree of branching and with the branching predominantly on an unalkoxylated alkyl sulfate surfactant. Such compositions exhibit surprising and unexpected improved sudsing profile, preferably stable suds, especially when the manual dishwashing is performed in a sink full of water with the cleaning composition diluted in it.

Ferrate compositions for surface disinfection

Methods for disinfecting a surface are provided which include contacting a surface with a solution comprising Fe(VI)O.sub.4.sup.2−, thereby disinfecting the surfaces. In some cases, the surface to be contacted with the solution is in a space suitable for human occupancy and the surface is arranged in the ambient of the space. In addition, solutions comprising Fe(VI)O.sub.4.sup.2− are provided. The solutions may additionally include a hypohalite salt and a surfactant.
