Positioning apparatus and gripping apparatus

A gripping apparatus includes: a temperature adjusting device held in a substrate wherein the substrate defines an open region; a phase change material held within the open region and thermally coupled with the temperature adjusting device such that a temperature change in the temperature adjusting device causes a temperature change in the phase change material; and a controller connected to the temperature adjusting device and configured to send a signal to the temperature adjusting device to change its temperature and thereby change the temperature of the phase change material that is thermally coupled with the temperature adjusting device. The phase change material is either in a solid state and configured to grip a stick or in a liquid state and the phase change material and configured to loosen its grip on the stick such that the stick is capable of moving through the phase change material.

Medical headgear and transcranial ultrasound transmission device comprising the same

A medical headgear includes an ultrasound transducer and a headgear. The ultrasound transducer is configured to generate a low intensity ultrasound. The headgear supports the ultrasound transducer. The headgear includes a rear portion case including a slide guide configured to support an occipital and a support pad configured to support a crown. The headgear further includes a front portion case connected to the rear portion case to be slidably movable in one direction. The front portion case includes two temporal support pads configured to support both temporal portions.

Embodiments of a dermatological cosmetic treatment and imaging system and method can include use of transducer to simultaneously or substantially simultaneously produce multiple cosmetic treatment zones in tissue. The system can include a hand wand, a removable transducer module, a control module, and/or graphical user interface. In some embodiments, the cosmetic treatment system may be used in cosmetic procedures, including brow lifts, fat reduction, sweat reduction, and treatment of the décolletage. Skin tightening, lifting and amelioration of wrinkles and stretch marks are provided.

SORTING ANIMALS BASED ON NON-INVASIVE DETERMINATION OF ANIMAL CHARACTERISTICS

Methods and systems are disclosed for improvements in aquaculture that allow for increasing the number and growth efficiency of fish in an aquaculture setting (or other animals in other settings) by identifying or predicting characteristics of the animals based on visual or ultrasound images of the animals obtained through non-invasive means. The animals are sorted based on the characteristics.

ULTRASOUND SCANNER EYE PIECE CONSTRUCTION METHOD

The present disclosure is directed to improvement of a precision ultrasound scanner for imaging the human eye and in particular to method for the manufacture and assembly of an eye piece suitable for use with an ultrasonic arc scanning device. The method disclosed herein describes an improved eye piece for ultrasound imaging that reduces saline leakage around its optically and acoustically transparent membrane and improves the efficiency of assembly.

An overlay system can include a substantially planar overlay base including a top side. The base can define a handle receptacle, for instance at a first end of the base. The handle receptacle can include a handle capture section optionally having a tapered profile. A centrally located elongated guide can extend longitudinally along the top side of the base to guide translational movement of the ultrasound probe holder along a longitudinal axis of the base. A handle can be configured to be attached and detached, by a user, with the handle receptacle of the base. The handle can define a channel optionally having a wedge profile. The wedge profile of the handle can correspond to the tapered profile of the handle receptacle. Engagement of the channel to the capture section of the handle receptacle can attach the handle to the base.
