Systems and methods are provided for treating cervical and/or uterine cancers in brachytherapy with an intracavitary brachytherapy applicator. The system comprises a tandem adapted for insertion into a cervix of a patient. An ovoid assembly comprises first and second inflatable ovoids and an ovoid support mechanism. The first and second inflatable ovoids are adapted for insertion within fornices of a patient. First and second retractors are adapted to be coupled to the ovoid assembly. The first retractor is adapted to be positioned to retract the bladder of a patient during treatment. The second retractor is adapted to be positioned to retract the rectum of a patient during treatment. The tandem and the first and second inflatable ovoids are adapted to be coupled to a radioactive source to deliver an implant radiation dose suitable for cancer treatment at a cancerous cervical treatment site in a patient.

Implant assessment using ultrasound and optical imaging

A system may include an ultrasound probe and a controller unit configured to obtain a baseline ultrasound image of a patient's breast area using the ultrasound probe and to obtain a follow-up ultrasound image of the patient's breast area using the ultrasound probe. The controller unit may further be configured to use one or more machine learning models to compare the baseline ultrasound image with the follow-up ultrasound image; detect a change in a morphology or integrity of the patient's breast area based on the comparison of the baseline ultrasound image with the follow-up ultrasound image; and generate a recommendation for a medical intervention based on the detected change.

Methods and systems for medical imaging

Various methods and systems are provided for a portable ultrasound imaging system. In one example, a portable ultrasound imaging system is disclosed, comprising a support stand with a sliding portion vertically slidable in relation to a stationary portion; a cradle configured to support an ultrasound imaging device and coupled to the sliding portion of the support stand; a tray, positioned below the cradle, coupled to the sliding portion of the support stand; and a case at least partially enclosing an electric power converter including an electric power cable, electrically coupled to the ultrasound imaging device, and positioned at a rear side of the support stand and coupled to the sliding portion of the support stand such that the sliding portion and the case move in unison during sliding movement of the sliding portion.

Systems and method for destroying or inhibiting cancer cells and other rapidly-dividing cells include applying AP magnetic fields having a defined frequency of 5 Hz-500 kHz and a field strength of 0.1-5000 μT to a target body area that includes the cancer or other rapidly-dividing cells, and modifying the cancer or tumor microenvironment to increase the presence of cancer-suppressive cells or decrease the presence of cancer-promoting cells. In various embodiments, the systems and methods may include adjusting the therapy based on the dosage of an immunotherapy drug administered to the patient before, during, or after the application of the AP magnetic fields.

ULTRASOUND SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD OF ULTRASOUND SYSTEM
20230200779 · 2023-06-29 · ·

In an ultrasound system and a control method of the ultrasound system, a first position of an ultrasound probe on a nipple of a subject and a second position of the ultrasound probe on epidermis above a region of interest in a three-dimensional space are acquired, and the region of interest and the epidermis in an ultrasound image are specified. A first linear distance L1 from the first position to the second position in the three-dimensional space and a second linear distance L2 from the region of interest to the epidermis above the region of interest in the ultrasound image are calculated. Then, a third linear distance L3 from the nipple to the region of interest in the ultrasound image is calculated on the basis of the first linear distance L1 and the second linear distance L2.
