SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IDENTIFYING RARE CELLS
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods of fixing and staining rare cells. Further, disclosed herein are methods of identifying circulating tumor cells (CTC). In some embodiments, the method includes: imaging a cell sample to identify a cell of interest; determining a first pixel intensity of a stained nuclear area; determining a second pixel intensity of a background area; calculating a ploidy status of the cell of interest by subtracting the second pixel intensity from the first pixel intensity; and determining whether the cell of interest is a CTC based on the ploidy status. The method may be computer implemented, such that the method uses a machine learning algorithm to identify a feature; process the feature to extract a parameter of interest; analyze the parameter of interest; and when the parameter of interest is greater than or less than a pre-determined threshold, classify the cell of interest as a CTC.
LAUNDRY CARE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING THEIR AGE
A laundry care composition including (a) at least one laundry care ingredient and (b) a leuco composition. The leuco composition has a first color state and a second color state and the mole ratio of second color state to first color state is from 2:98 to 5:95. Also disclosed are methods of determining the approximate functional age of a laundry care composition comprising the steps of (a) providing a laundry care composition that includes at least one laundry care ingredient and a leuco composition, (b) providing a functional age scale that includes a plurality of distinct colors that correspond to a unique functional age and (c) comparing the color of the laundry care composition with the functional age scale.
Alcohol-potentiated antimicrobial formulations containing a disinfectant mixture
Alcohol-potentiated antimicrobial soap formulations include an alcohol-potentiated antimicrobial agent ranging from 0.10 to 2.0% (v/v), an alcohol potentiator ranging from 10.0 to 25.0% (v/v), non-ionic surfactants ranging from 0.25 to 5.0% (v/v), an emollient ranging from 0.10 to 3.0% (v/v), solvents ranging from 0.5 to 2.0% (v/v), and a carrier fluid ranging from 70.0 to 90.0% (v/v). Also, alcohol-potentiated hard surface sanitizer formulations include an alcohol-potentiated antimicrobial agent ranging from 0.10 to 1.00% (v/v), 200-proof ethanol ranging from 15.00 to 25.00% (v/v), and water. Also, alcohol-potentiated hard surface disinfectant formulations include a surfactant ranging from 0.50 to 2.00% (v/v), 190 to 200-proof ethanol ranging from 15.00 to 25.00% (v/v), an alcohol-potentiated antimicrobial agent ranging from 0.10 to 2.50, a chelating agent ranging from 0.10 to 1.50% (v/v), and water.
Alkyl amides for enhanced food soil removal and asphalt dissolution
The present invention comprises a hard surface cleaning composition including an environmentally friendly alkyl amide solvent, derived from renewable bio-based resources that works at least as well as d-limonene. In one embodiment, the present invention is a cleaning composition including an anionic surfactant salt, a saturated C.sub.8 to C.sub.10 alkyl amide solvent, a cosolvent and water. The composition is substantially free of d-limonene and can remove red food soils with up to 20 percent protein, and also functions as an asphalt removal composition.
Methods of facilitating removal of a fingerprint
Bioactive coatings that include a base and a protein associated with the base for actively promoting the removal of organic stains are provided. In aspects, bioactive coatings that are stabilized against inactivation by weathering are provided including a base associated with a chemically modified enzyme, and, optionally a first polyoxyethylene present in the base and independent of the enzyme. The coatings are optionally overlayered onto a substrate to form an active coating facilitating the removal of organic stains or organic material from food, insects, or the environment.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING LEUCO COMPOUNDS AND COLORANTS
A composition comprises (a) a leuco compound and (b) a colorant. The colorant preferably has an Aesthetic Value Index (AVI) of greater than −4. The colorant preferably is also complementary to the color exhibited by the colored analogue of the leuco compound (e.g., complementary to the color exhibited by the oxidized analogue of the leuco compound).
Solvent Composition and Process for Removal of Asphalt and Other Contaminant Materials
A method and composition for removing contaminant material from industrial equipment are disclosed herein. The method includes providing a solvent composition having methyl soyate, N-methylpyrrolidinone, an additional solvent, and a cationic surfactant. The method also includes contacting the contaminant material with the solvent composition and allowing the solvent composition to react with the contaminant material such that at least a portion of the contaminant material is no longer attached to the industrial equipment.
SOLVENT COMPOSITIONS FOR REMOVING PETROLEUM RESIDUE FROM A SUBSTRATE AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A method of cleaning highway and road construction equipment is disclosed.
