Portable ultrasound imaging system with active cooling
11630192 · 2023-04-18 · ·

An ultrasound imaging system includes a thermally conductive frame and a number of electronic components and a display that are sealed within the frame. The frame further includes a plenum extending through the frame with surfaces that are thermally coupled to the electronic components and the display. An active cooling mechanism, such as one or more fans, moves air through the plenum to remove heat generated by the electronic components and display. The plenum is environmentally sealed so that moisture, dust, air or other contaminants drawn into the plenum do not contact the sealed electronic components and display in the frame.

A method for acoustic imaging includes emitting an acoustic signal. The method includes (a) emitting an acoustic signal; (b) detecting signals corresponding to reflections of the acoustic signal at an array of positions proximate a positon of the emitting; (c) adding, for a chosen distance from the position of the emitting, a respective time delay to each detected signal to cause each detected signal to correspond to each of a plurality of positions in a plane transverse to a line normal to a plane of the array of positions; (d) summing the time delayed signals; (e) selecting one of the plurality of positions having a highest summed, delayed signal amplitude; and (f) assigning a pixel to the one of the plurality of positions having the highest amplitude. (b) through (f) are repeated for a plurality of different chosen distances.

Ultrasound probe with acoustical lens

The present invention relates to an ultrasound probe (60) comprising: an ultrasound transducer (12) having an emission surface (24) for generating ultrasound waves, and an acoustical lens (12) with a first part (64) having an inner surface (66) facing the emission surface (24), wherein the inner surface (64) comprises a plurality of protrusions (74) and/or recesses (76) for scattering reflections of ultrasound waves.

System and method for providing auditory guidance in medical systems

An auditory guidance system and method for medical systems and procedures are disclosed. A method for providing auditory guidance during a medical procedure includes selecting a song for playing during the medical procedure. At least a portion of the song is assigned to the medical procedure. Parameter information for at least one parameter associated with the medical procedure is obtained during the medical procedure. The obtained parameter information is compared against predetermined thresholds for each parameter. The portion of the song associated with the parameter information is modified in accordance with the comparison and the modified portion of the song is played to provide auditory guidance during the medical procedure.
