PORTABLE ULTRASOUND IMAGING SYSTEM WITH ACTIVE COOLING
An ultrasound imaging system includes a thermally conductive frame and a number of electronic components and a display that are sealed within the frame. The frame further includes a plenum extending through the frame with surfaces that are thermally coupled to the electronic components and the display. An active cooling mechanism, such as one or more fans, moves air through the plenum to remove heat generated by the electronic components and display. The plenum is environmentally sealed so that moisture, dust, air or other contaminants drawn into the plenum do not contact the sealed electronic components and display in the frame.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING AND IMAGING A TREATMENT PROBE HAVING AN INTEGRATED SENSOR
A system includes an energy source configured to generate therapeutic energy, a treatment probe, an ultrasound imaging device configured to generate ultrasound images, a second tracking sensor configured to track a location of the ultrasound imaging device, and a tracking system configured to receive location information from the first and second tracking sensors and to overlay the ultrasound images with a graphical representation of the treatment probe on a display based on the location information. The treatment probe includes an antenna configured to treat tissue with the therapeutic energy and a first tracking sensor integrated in the antenna and configured to track a location of a distal tip of the antenna.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING AUDITORY GUIDANCE IN MEDICAL SYSTEMS
An auditory guidance system and method for medical systems and procedures are disclosed. A method for providing auditory guidance during a medical procedure includes selecting a song for playing during the medical procedure. At least a portion of the song is assigned to the medical procedure. Parameter information for at least one parameter associated with the medical procedure is obtained during the medical procedure. The obtained parameter information is compared against predetermined thresholds for each parameter. The portion of the song associated with the parameter information is modified in accordance with the comparison and the modified portion of the song is played to provide auditory guidance during the medical procedure.
Ultrasonic probe
Disclosed herein is an ultrasonic probe for acquiring an ultrasound image. The ultrasound probe includes a transducer configured to be movable, a cap configured to transmit an ultrasound signal generated by the transducer to outside, and an impact mitigating member disposed along a circumference of the cap to protect the cap from an external impact.
Modulated ultra-sound compatible artificial cranial prosthesis
An intracranial prosthesis comprised of a flat body having an interior ultrasound-compatible window and means about the outer portion capable of engaging a plurality of diagnostic instruments and/or intracranial delivery systems so that a practicing medical professional can monitor certain parameters of a patient or deliver therapeutic agents to the patient while using an ultrasound-monitoring device to image the patient's brain. The prosthesis is designed to allow for the continuous, uninterrupted, simultaneous monitoring of a number of parameters of a patient's brain at the patient's bedside.
ULTRASOUND COUPLING SYSTEM
An ultrasound coupling system 100 for coupling any ultrasound transducer 106 to a body surface to be examined includes a stand-off holder 102 for receiving the ultrasound transducer 106. The stand-off holder 102 has a frame section with a central aperture The frame section includes a fixation member 108 for removably mounting a stand-off cushion 104 to the stand-off holder 102. The central aperture is configured to accommodate an end portion 118 of the ultrasound transducer 106 having an end surface. The frame section is configured such that the end surface contacts the stand-off cushion 104 through the central aperture in a state where the stand-off cushion 104 is removably mounted to the frame section and the end portion 118 of the ultrasound transducer 106 is accommodated in the central aperture.
APPARATUS FOR ULTRASOUND SCANNING
Disclosed is a robotic ultrasound system comprising an ultrasound probe and a transport mechanism for moving the ultrasound probe in at least one direction. The robotic ultrasound system also comprises a scanning bed comprising the transport mechanism and the ultrasound probe, the scanning bed having a fluid filled portion for the ultrasound probe, wherein a fluid of the fluid filled portion allows transmission of ultrasound waves from the ultrasound probe to a surface of the robotic ultrasound system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ULTRASOUND SCREENING
The invention provides an ultrasound system including an ultrasound transducer array and a processor. The ultrasound transducer array comprises a plurality of transducer elements adapted to conform with a subjects body. Further, at least two ultrasound transducer elements of the plurality of transducer elements are adapted to acquire a plurality of ultrasound signals from a region of interest at different orientations relative to said region of interest. The processor is adapted to receive ultrasound signals acquired by the ultrasound transducer array. The processor is further adapted to partition the plurality of ultrasound signals according to a signal depth and, for each ultrasound signal partition, calculate a Doppler power. For each ultrasound signal, the processor identifies a depth of a fetal heartbeat based on the Doppler power of each ultrasound signal partition and identifies a fetal heart region based on the identified fetal heartbeat and a location of the at least two ultrasound transducers.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING CAVITATIONS USING THROUGH-TRANSMISION ALVEOLAR ULTRASONOGRAPHY (TAU)
The present invention relates to an apparatus, method and system for detecting and locating dental cavitations in jawbones using Through-Transmission Alveolar Ultrasonography (TAU). The apparatus comprises a measuring unit comprising an ultrasonic transducer and a round ultrasonic receiver. The apparatus is a handhold and is configured to define the geometric position of the ultrasonic transducer and the ultrasonic receiver with respect to each other so as to achieve a high-resolution ultrasound image of the jawbone with minimal errors and in order to improve diagnosis of dental cavitations.
REJUVENATING SKIN BY HEATING TISSUE FOR COSMETIC TREATMENT OF THE FACE AND BODY
Systems and methods for treating skin and subcutaneous tissue with energy such as ultrasound energy are disclosed. In various embodiments, ultrasound energy is applied at a region of interest to affect tissue by cutting, ablating, micro-ablating, coagulating, or otherwise affecting the subcutaneous tissue to conduct numerous procedures that are traditionally done invasively in a non-invasive manner. Lifting sagging tissue on a face, neck, and/or body are described. Treatment with heat is provided in several embodiments.
