Treatment compositions, such as fabric care or dish care compositions, that include poly alpha-1,6-glucan ether compounds, which include poly alpha-1,6-glucans substituted with at least one positively charged organic group, the compounds being characterized by, for example, a degree of substitution of about 0.001 to about 3.0, and optionally, where about 3% or more of the backbone glucose monomer units have branches via alpha-1,2- and/or alpha-1,3-glycosidic linkages. Methods related to making and using such compositions.
LAUNDRY CARE OR DISH CARE COMPOSITION COMPRISING A POLY ALPHA-1,6-GLUCAN DERIVATIVE
A laundry care or dish care composition can include a poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative, wherein the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative includes: (i) a poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone of glucose monomer units, wherein greater than or equal to 40% of the glucose monomer units are linked via alpha-1,6 glycosidic linkages, and optionally at least 5% of the backbone glucose monomer units have branches via alpha-1,2 and/or alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages; and (ii) at least one hydrophobic organic group linked to the poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone through an ether (—O—) linkage moiety; wherein, the poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone has a weight average degree of polymerization of at least 5; wherein, the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative has a degree of substitution of ether linkage moiety of from 0.20 to 1.00; wherein the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative is substantially free from hydrophilic substitution.
METHOD OF USE OF COMPOSITION COMPRISING A QUATERNARY AMMONIUM COMPOUND, A CATIONIC POLYSACCHARIDE AND A NONIONIC POLYSACCHARIDE
The present invention relates to a method for conditioning a fabric comprising the step of contacting the fabric with an aqueous medium comprising a composition, wherein the composition comprises: (a) a quaternary ammonium compound; (b) a cationic polysaccharide; and (c) a nonionic polysaccharide. In particular, the quaternary ammonium compound is a biodegradable quaternary ammonium compound. The composition has excellent softening performance and improved perfume longevity. The present invention also relates to use of said composition for conditioning a fabric.

A laundry care or dish care composition can include a poly alpha-1,6-glucan ester compound, where the poly alpha-1,6-glucan ester compound includes: (i) a poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone wherein 40% or more of the glucose monomer units are linked via alpha-1,6-glycosidic linkages; and from 0 to 50% glucose units of the poly alpha-1,6 glucan backbone further contains glucose branching moiety linked via alpha-1,2- or alpha-1,3-glycosidic linkages; and (ii) one or more ester groups selected from: (a) an aryl ester group; (b) a first acyl group comprising —CO—R″, wherein R″ comprises a chain of 1 to 24 carbon atoms, and (c) a second acyl group comprising —CO—Cx-COOH, wherein the -Cx- portion of the second acyl group comprises a chain of 2 to 24 carbon atoms,
wherein the poly alpha-1,6-glucan ester compound has a degree of polymerization (DPn) in the range of 5 to 1400, and
wherein the degree of substitution of ester groups is from about 0.001 to about 1.50.

The invention relates to compositions and methods for reducing biocontaminant (for example flesh, blood, mucous, faeces or biofilm) on a surface, such as an endoscope surface. The compositions are viscoelastic and of low lubricity, having the following properties at 21° C.: a rotational yield point between 140% strain and 300% strain; a peak viscosity between 550 Pa.Math.s and 2000 Pa.Math.s; an oscillatory flow point between 250 and 700% strain; and a coefficient of friction μ which has a maximum value (preferably 0.06 or greater) in the viscoelastic liquid's elastohydrodynamic region.
