Method and apparatus for noninvasive absolute (mean) intracranial pressure (A-ICP) measurement and/or monitoring
11672439 · 2023-06-13 ·

Non-invasive measurement of intracranial pressure (ICP), for example mean ICP. A probe adjacent the head emits energy, such as ultrasound, and receives reflected signals. A processing unit derives ICP waveform from the signals. A pressure mechanism applies external pressure intermittently to outer surface of the head and incrementally increases the external pressure. The processing unit is configured to detect a decrease in amplitude of the ICP waveform (occurring in some embodiments only after an intermediate period of ICRS compensation), the processing unit configured to determine the ICP of the person from a sum of applied external pressures from a time of the initial value A1 until a final value at which the amplitude remains stable with additional increase in applied external pressure. In some cases, the final value is earlier than that but the processing unit extrapolates the sum to when the amplitude remains stable with additional increases in pressure.

A method is disclosed for generating sinograms by sampling a plurality of transducers acoustically coupled with the surface of a volume of tissue over a period of time after a light pulse at one wavelength, and after another light pulse at a different wavelength, and for processing those sinograms, reconstructing at least two optoacoustic images from the two sinograms, processing the two optoacoustic images to generate two envelope images and generating a parametric map from information in the two envelope images. In an embodiment, motion and tracking are determined to align the envelope images. In an embodiment, at least a second parametric map is produced from information in the same two envelope images. In an embodiment an ultrasound image is also acquired, and the parametric map is coregistered with and overlayed upon the ultrasound image, and then displayed.

Hybrid ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging device

In order to position and simultaneously operate both a magnetic resonance (MR) coil and an ultrasound transducer adjacent to a target volume while minimizing interference between the MR coil and the ultrasound transducer, hybrid ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices are provided. One of the hybrid ultrasound and MRI devices includes a transducer array, a communications interface connected with the transducer array, and a housing that electromagnetically shields and encloses the transducer array and the communications interface. An electrically conducting side of the housing receives a radio frequency (RF) signal from an MRI system and transmits the RF signal to an electrically conducting side of a housing of another of the hybrid ultrasound and MRI devices.

Provided is an object information acquiring apparatus, having: an ultrasound transmitting element; a plurality of transducers each detecting a first acoustic wave generated by light, which is radiated into an object, and outputting a first electric signal, and detecting a second acoustic wave generated by an ultrasound wave, which is transmitted from the ultrasound transmitting element and which is scattered inside the object, and outputting a second electric signal; a support supporting the plurality of transducers so that directivity axes of the transducers are concentrated; and a processor acquiring property information on the object based on the first electric signal and the second electric signal respectively.

Medical scan triaging system and methods for use therewith

A medical scan triaging system is operable to train a computer vision model and to generate abnormality data indicating abnormality probabilities for medical scans via the computer vision model. A first subset of medical scans is determined by identifying medical scans with abnormality probabilities greater than a first probability value of a triage probability threshold. A second subset of medical scans is determined by identifying medical scans with abnormality probabilities less than the first probability value. An updated first subset of medical scans is determined by identifying medical scans with abnormality probabilities greater than a second probability value of an updated triage probability threshold. An updated second subset of the plurality of medical scans is determined by identifying medical scans with a abnormality probabilities less than the second probability value. The updated first subset of medical scans is transmitted to client devices.

Wireless Biological Monitoring

A patient monitoring system includes: a biomedical sensor including: a transducer configured to produce a signal corresponding to a biological function; a sensor converter configured to convert the signal to a converted signal; and a transmitter configured to produce a communication, based on the converted signal, that is indicative of one or more values of the biological function, and to send the communication wirelessly; and a base station including: a receiver configured to receive the communication wirelessly and to produce a receiver output signal; a base station interface configured to produce a base station output signal indicative of the one or more values of the biological function; and at least one output port to receive the base station output signal and configured to be hard-wire connected to a display that is configured to display information indicative of the biological function.
