A cleaning agent composition for use in removing an adhesive residue, characterized in that the composition contains a quaternary ammonium salt and a composition solvent including a first organic solvent and a second organic solvent; the first organic solvent is an amide derivative represented by formula (Z) (wherein R.sup.0 represents an ethyl group, a propyl group, or an isopropyl group; and each of R.sup.A and R.sup.B represents a C1 to C4 alkyl group); the second organic solvent is a non-amide organic solvent other than the amide derivative; and the composition has a water content less than 4.0 mass %. ##STR00001##

An alcohol free, low viscosity, and high-water content air freshener composition is provided. The transparent microemulsion system is stable at a broad range of temperatures. The main ingredient of the composition is water. The composition is free of conventionally-used amphiphilic surfactants including ionic and non-ionic surfactants. The composition contains an oil phase, an aqueous phase and at least one glycol ether solvent. The system is compatible for a wide scope of water-immiscible ingredients that are used in fragrances and flavors.

METHODS OF REMOVING ANTIMICROBIAL RESIDUES FROM SURFACES

A method is provided for removing a residue from a surface. The method includes steps of applying a cleaning medium to the surface containing the residue. The cleaning medium comprises up to 100 wt. % of at least a solvent. Allowing the cleaning medium to be in contact with the residue for at least 5 seconds to swell/dissolve the residue for removing the residue from the surface. At least 50 wt. % of the residue and the cleaning medium are removed from the surface by wiping the surface with a shear force. The residue contains a sulfonated polymer having an ion exchange capacity (IEC) of greater than 0.5 meq/g. The sulfonated polymer can kill >90% of microbes coming in contact with the sulfonated polymer in less than 30 min.
