Synthetic transmit focusing ultrasound system with speed of sound aberration correction
An ultrasound imaging system which uses multiline receive beamforming for synthetic transmit focusing are phase adjusted to account for speed of sound variation in the transmission medium. The phase discrepancy of the received multilines caused by speed of sound variation in the medium is estimated in the frequency domain for both the transmit angular spectrum and the receive angular spectrum. The phase variation is removed in the frequency domain, then an inverse Fourier transform is used to transform the frequency domain results to the spatial domain. In another implementation, the phase discrepancy of the received multilines is estimated and corrected entirely in the spatial domain.
Intraluminal ultrasound vessel border selection and associated devices, systems, and methods
Disclosed is an intraluminal ultrasound imaging system, including a processor circuit in communication with an intraluminal ultrasound imaging catheter, wherein the processor circuit is configured to receive a plurality of intraluminal ultrasound images obtained by the intraluminal ultrasound imaging catheter during movement of the intraluminal ultrasound imaging catheter within a body lumen of a patient. The processor circuit is further configured to select an image from among the plurality of intraluminal ultrasound images, generate at least two border contours associated with the lumen within the selected image, display the border contours associated with the lumen, each overlaid on a separate instance of the selected image, receive a user input selecting one of the border contours; and display the selected image overlaid with the selected border contour.
Systems and methods for ultrasound probe needle tracking status indicators
A guidance system for guiding insertion of a needle into a body of a patient utilizes ultrasound imaging or other suitable imaging technology. The guidance system can include an imaging device including a probe for producing an image of the internal body portion target, such as a blood vessel. The imaging device can be configured to provide at least one indication of status via sensory feedback based on a determined position of the needle, for example via a plurality of light-emitting diodes located on the device. One or more sensors can be included with the probe that can sense a magnetic field associated with the needle. The system may include a processor that can receive magnetic field data sensed by the at-least-one sensor to determine the position of the needle. The system can also include a display that depicts the determined position of the needle.
Robust segmentation through high-level image understanding
A facility identifies anatomical objects visualized by a medical imaging image. The facility applies two machine learning models to the image: a first trained to predict a view probability vector that, for each of a list of views, attributes a probability that the image was captured from the view, and a second trained to predict an object probability vector that, for each of a list of anatomical objects, attributes a probability that the object is visualized by the image. For each object, the facility: (1) accesses a list of views in which the object is permitted; (2) multiplies the predicted probability that the object is visualized by the image by the sum of the predicted probabilities that the accessed image was captured from views in which the object is permitted; and (3) where the resulting probability exceeds a threshold, determines that the object is visualized by the accessed image.
System and method for converting handheld diagnostic ultrasound systems into ultrasound training systems
A system and method for converting a commercial diagnostic ultrasound transducer into a medical training device that is used for simulated ultrasound training; or a system and method for adding a training option to a standard ultrasound diagnostic system by attaching a motion sensor accessory to the commercial diagnostic ultrasound transducer.
PORTABLE HEADSET
Arrangements described herein relate to a headset. The headset includes a device. The device includes a transducer configured to interact with a head of a subject. The headset further includes a manually-operated registration system configured to delineate a workspace of the transducer at the head of the subject.
ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE METHOD AND SYSTEM
A method and system is for assisting a user in positioning an ultrasound probe relative to a subject's body. In use, the user moves the probe through a series of positions, and ultrasound image data is captured for each position, the data at each position corresponding to a particular imaging view of the anatomical region being imaged. An assessment procedure (16) is operable to process ultrasound data for different imaging views, and to determine for the data for each view a rating, representative of the suitability of the data for that view for observing one or more anatomical features or deriving one or more clinical parameters from the data. Guidance feedback is generated (18) for the user for assisting the user in positioning the probe, wherein the guidance feedback is based on a history (26) of image view quality over time over the course of the imaging procedure. For example, a trend in image view quality over time may be determined and output to a user, from which the user can quickly tell whether they are moving toward (in the case of increasing quality) or away from (decreasing quality) an optimum imaging position.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING VETERINARY ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION CONDITION, AND ULTRASOUND IMAGING APPARATUS
The disclosure relates to a method for determining a veterinary ultrasound examination condition, and an ultrasound imaging apparatus. The method includes: obtaining animal information of an animal to be tested, wherein the animal information includes an animal type and/or an examination type; determining currently available probes and supported examination modes; and determining, based on the animal information and historical usage data of the available probes, a target probe and a target examination mode for examining the animal to be tested from the available probes and the supported examination modes. According to the disclosure, the probe for examining the animal to be tested can be automatically determined, such that repetitive work of a user can be reduced, and a suitable probe for examination can be quickly obtained, thereby improving examination efficiency of veterinary ultrasound examination, and ensuring examination effect.
