A subject is avascularized while changing the avascularization pressure between the avascularized condition and the non-avascularized condition. A receiving circuit receives a detection signal obtained by detecting a photoacoustic wave generated in the subject by emission of measurement light to the subject. Photoacoustic image generation means generates a photoacoustic image based on the detection signal of the photoacoustic wave. Motion detection means detects the motion of each of a plurality of control points set in each photoacoustic image based on photoacoustic images at a plurality of times. Region of interest setting means sets a region of interest based on the motion detected at each control point. Blood flow information generation means generates blood flow information based on the signal strength of the photoacoustic image in the region of interest.

20170367769 · 2017-12-28 ·

Apparatus and methods are described including an endoluminal device configured to move along a portion of a lumen of a subject's body, an extraluminal imaging device, and at least one computer processor. While the endoluminal device moves along the portion of the lumen, a display displays an extraluminal image of the lumen in which a first indication of a location of the lumen is shown. The extraluminal imaging device acquires a sequence of extraluminal images of the endoluminal device moving along the portion of the lumen. The indication of the location of the lumen that is displayed is updated based upon the acquired sequence of extraluminal images, and the acquired sequence of images is displayed with the updated indication of the location of the lumen overlaid upon the images. Other applications are also described.

In an ultrasound system and a control method of the ultrasound system, a first position of an ultrasound probe on a nipple of a subject and a second position of the ultrasound probe on epidermis above a region of interest in a three-dimensional space are acquired, and the region of interest and the epidermis in an ultrasound image are specified. A first linear distance L1 from the first position to the second position in the three-dimensional space and a second linear distance L2 from the region of interest to the epidermis above the region of interest in the ultrasound image are calculated. Then, a third linear distance L3 from the nipple to the region of interest in the ultrasound image is calculated on the basis of the first linear distance L1 and the second linear distance L2.

ULTRASOUND SYSTEM AND METHOD

A method executed at least in part by a computer and comprising responding to an instruction requesting an ultrasound exam by wirelessly communicating with an ultrasound system by transmitting a query signal and receiving a response signal from the ultrasound system. Response can determine whether or not the ultrasound system is configured with at least a suitable transducer for the requested ultrasound exam. The method determines whether or not an operator identified in the response signal is trained to administer the requested ultrasound exam. A schedule signal for the requested ultrasound exam is transmitted. A displayed message indicates progress of the requested ultrasound exam.

Ultrasound imaging system apparatus and method with ADC saturation monitor

An ultrasound imaging system and method employs hardware and/or software to monitor values indicative of analog-to-digital converter (ADC) saturation for each channel as a function of depth. Any of a number of actions may be performed based on the monitored values. For example, analog amplification or TGC may be adjusted to enhance the use of a dynamic range of ADCs while reducing or eliminating ADC saturation. A TGC profile may be adjusted. An alert may be provided. A power consumption may be adjusted.
