LOSS OF FUNCTION ALLELES OF PtEPSP-TF AND ITS REGULATORY TARGETS IN RICE
The present disclosure provides genetically modified plants, plant cells and plant tissues that show reduced lignin content as compared to a control plant which was not genetically modified. In addition, the disclosure provides methods of regulating lignin content in a plant. The disclosure also provides methods of producing bioproducts using the genetically modified plants of the instant disclosure.
IMPROVED PLANT EPSP SYNTHASES AND METHODS OF USE
Compositions and methods comprising polynucleotides and polypeptides having EPSP (5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate) synthase (EPSPS) activity are provided. In specific embodiments, the sequence has an improved property, such as, but not limited to, improved catalytic capacity in the presence of the inhibitor, glyphosate. Further provided are nucleic acid constructs, plants, plant cells, explants, seeds and grain having the EPSPS sequences. Various methods of employing the EPSPS sequences are provided. Such methods include methods for producing a glyphosate tolerant plant, plant cell, explant or seed and methods of controlling weeds in a field containing a crop employing the plants and/or seeds disclosed herein.
REGULATING LIGNIN BIOSYNTHESIS AND SUGAR RELEASE IN PLANTS
This disclosure provides genetically modified plants, plant cells and plant tissues that show modified lignin content and/or sugar release as compared to a wild type control plant which was not genetically modified. In addition, the disclosure provides methods of regulating lignin content and sugar release in a plant. The disclosure also provides methods of producing bioproducts using the genetically modified plants of the instant disclosure.
A138T Mutation-Containing Plant EPSPS Mutant, and Encoding Gene and Application Thereof
The invention provides a plant EPSPS mutant (i.e., 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase mutant), which is derived from a plant and is mutated to have glyphosate resistance. Also provided is an encoding gene, which can encode the plant EPSPS mutant. In addition, a vector containing the encoding gene and a cell containing the vector is provided by the invention. Further, a use of the plant EPSPS mutant is provided.
Nucleic acid construct for conferring herbicide tolerance in plants
The present invention is drawn to a nucleic acid sequence which confers expression of a phosphinothricin acetyltransferase and a 5-enolpyruvyl-3-phosphoshikimic acid synthase when introduced into a cell. These proteins may confer herbicide tolerance.
Methods and compositions for selective regulation of protein expression
The invention provides novel recombinant DNA molecules, compositions, and methods for selectively regulating the expression of a transcribable polynucleotide molecule or recombinant protein in a male reproductive tissue of a transgenic plant. The invention also provides transgenic plants, plant cells, plant parts, seeds, and commodity products comprising such DNA molecules and compositions.
Wheat having resistance to glyphosate DUe to alterations in 5-enol-pyruvylshikimate-3 phosphate synthase
Plants with resistance to glyphosate are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the disclosure relate to human induced non-transgenic mutations in the EPSPS gene in plants.
K85 Mutation-Containing Plant EPSPS Mutant, and Encoding Gene and Application Thereof
The invention provides a plant EPSPS mutant (i.e. 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase mutant), which is derived from plant, and has glyphosate resistance after mutation. Also provided is an encoding gene, which can encode the above plant EPSPS mutant; and a vector containing the above encoding gene; and a cell containing the above vector. Further provided are uses of the above plant EPSPS mutant.
