HEALTH TEST FOR A BROAD SPECTRUM OF HEALTH PROBLEMS
Provided herein are methods and devices for the detection of conditions or disorders by detecting altered levels of stress response pathway biomarkers. Also provided are methods and reagents for identifying panels of biomarkers associated with a condition or disorder.
INSTRUMENTED RECEPTACLE APPARATUS FOR HEALTH ANALYSIS OF BODY FLUIDS
A health analysis fixture includes a receptacle. A volume of water and a body fluid sample form a water line within the receptacle. A light-emitting device and a light-sensing device are disposed within the receptacle. A measurement device determines a height of the water line before and after an introduction of the body fluid sample. A computer processor is configured to receive sensor data from the light-sensing device, receive the determined height of the water line before and after the introduction of the body fluid sample from the measurement device, calculate a dilution factor for the body fluid sample from the received height of the water line before and after the introduction of the body fluid sample, receive sensor data from the light-sensing device, and interpret the received sensor data based on the dilution factor to generate health information therefrom.
CONTACT LENS CONTAINER WITH BIOMARKER DETECTION
A contact lens container can include a body. The body can include a floor, at least one wall connected to the floor, a cavity defined, at least in part, by the floor and the at least one wall, and a sensor oriented to take a measurement of a contact lens solution within the cavity when the cavity is at least partially filled with a contact lens solution.
NON-INVASIVE OCULAR BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL GATHERING DEVICE
The biological material gathering device disclosed herein is designed for non-invasive isolation of biological material from an eye, eyelid, or periocular. The device uses a plurality of adhesive beads engaged on a microfiber bundle to harvest biological materials from an individual without the need for penetrating or invasive methods. Such biological materials may then be processed and examined to determine the etiology of pathologies or malignancies affecting the individual. The biological material gathering device preferably comprises a tonometer tip base and housing for use in commonly-available ophthalmological examination devices. The present invention may further comprise video imaging capability so as to register the precise and relative locations of harvested biological materials for later reference. Finally, the biological material gathering device disclosed herein may be made available in kit form for clinical use.
OPHTHALMIC LENS WITH A MICROFLUIDIC SYSTEM
The present invention described a system for an energized ophthalmic device with a media insert that includes microfluidic elements upon or within the media insert. In some embodiments, the microfluidic elements may be useful for the purpose of analyzing an analyte such as glucose in a fluid sample. In addition, some embodiments can function with a medicament administering device to treat an abnormal condition identified during the analyte analysis in the fluid sample.
BIOFLUID SENSING DEVICES WITH TEMPERATURE REGULATION
The disclosed invention includes a biofluid sensing device capable of passively or actively regulating an operating temperature of one or more sensors. The device includes at least one biofluid sensor in a thermally isolated environment and at least one temperature sensor to measure sensor environment temperature. Some embodiments include at least one thermal adjustor to regulate the sensor temperature by actively regulating the sensor environment temperature in response to a signal from the temperature sensor. The invention also includes a method of regulating temperature for a biofluid sensing device having a sensor for measuring an analyte in the biofluid. The method includes measuring a biofluid sensor temperature, regulating the sensor temperature to within a selected range of the measured sensor temperature, and maintaining sensor temperature within the selected range of the measured temperature throughout device operation. In some embodiments, the measured temperature is a calibration temperature.
