Bodily Fluid Indicator Devices and Methods
Bodily fluid indicator devices and methods are provided. Such devices and methods can effectively indicate whether the amount of bodily fluid being produced is within a measurable range. In an exemplary embodiment, a bodily fluid indicator device includes a substrate having a surface. Some portions of the surface are covered with a region of absorbent material and other portions of the surface are devoid of the absorbent material. A graduated scale or a reactive feature is printed on the absorbent material. The device is configured to indicate an amount and/or a composition a bodily fluid present on an area of a patient or subject.
Kit and method for collecting body fluid for medical diagnosis
A kit and method for collecting body fluid for medical diagnosis. In some embodiments, the method includes collecting a sufficient amount of body fluid and cells comprising nucleic acid, and applying a nucleic acid assay to detect pathogenic genomic material such as human papillomavirus mRNA and/or human papillomavirus DNA. In some embodiments, by testing fluid and cells, a sensitivity of the test is improved. In some embodiments, the method includes inserting an absorbing member into a body orifice, such as the vagina, for a time period such as 1-2 hours; retrieving the absorbing member and placing it in a sample container; extracting fluid from the absorbing member using a fluid extraction device, and testing the fluid. In some embodiments, the kit is a home use kit and the sample is self collected by a user.
Collection device for diagnostics of vaginal discharge
A method of analyzing vaginal fluid includes collecting vaginal fluid in a vaginal fluid collecting system and transporting the collected vaginal fluid to a location for analysis. The analysis can be stored in and retrieved from a secure cloud storage data base.
Synergistic Compositions for Gynecological Procedures
Synergistic compositions for use in treatment during gynecological procedures are provided. Synergistic compositions that enable practitioners to perform gynecological procedures without pain or bleeding to patients are provided.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COLLECTING CELLS AND BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES FOR SCREENING
A device for self-collection of a cervical sample includes an enclosure, a sample-collecting head, and a slider and a knob on the enclosure. The enclosure can be gripped by a user in one hand and inserted into the user's vaginal canal. The enclosure has an opening at one end, and a sample-collecting head can be advanced and retracted through the opening. The slider is on a side of the enclosure and is coupled to advance and retract the sample-collecting head, typically using a thumb. The knob is rotated by the user to rotate the sample-collecting head while the enclosure remains in the user's vaginal canal.
System and method for non-invasive analysis of bodily fluids
A vaginal fluid monitoring device includes an absorbent layer, wherein the absorbent layer is configured to be in proximity to flow of vaginal fluid; an electrochemical detection system configured to obtain data regarding at least one analyte in a vaginal fluid, said electrochemical detection system in fluid communication with the absorbent layer; and wherein the vaginal fluid monitoring device is configured to be coupled with a feminine hygiene product.
BODILY FLUID INDICATOR DEVICES AND METHODS
Bodily fluid indicator devices, systems, and methods are provided. Such devices, systems, and methods can effectively indicate whether the amount of bodily fluid being produced is within a measurable range, or can characterize various components or features of a bodily fluid. In an exemplary embodiment, a bodily fluid indicator device includes a substrate having a surface. Some portions of the surface are covered with a region of absorbent material and other portions of the surface are devoid of the absorbent material. A graduated scale or a reactive feature can be printed on the absorbent material. The device is configured to indicate an amount and/or a composition a bodily fluid present on an area of a patient or subject.
Collection device and material
Swabs, materials, and methods of making same, include randomly arranged sea-island bicomponent fibers. According to certain embodiments, swabs and methods of using such swabs are provided so as to collect and release a biological sample comprising a flock fiber tipped applicator wherein the flock fibers are sea-island bicomponent fibers attached to an end portion of the applicator with an adhesive selected from the group consisting of a photocurable acrylic adhesive and a polyurethane adhesive, the bicomponent fibers being structurally stable in water and the sea component of the bicomponent flock fibers being intact.
Collection device and material
Swabs, materials and methods of making the same include randomly arranged sea-island bicomponent fibers which have randomly splayed terminal ends. According to certain embodiments, swabs are provide which include an applicator, and sea-island bicomponent fibers attached to the applicator, wherein at least about 70% of the fibers comprise randomly splayed terminal ends of the islands of said bicomponent fibers along a length of about 45% or less from said ends, and wherein the bicomponent fibers comprise 10-3000 island parts per fiber.
Method and apparatus for self-collecting intravaginal sample for HPV test
The present invention relates to a method for self-collecting intravaginal sample for HPV test. The self-collecting intravaginal sample apparatus of the present invention comprises: an open end part, a closed end part, a tube providing an inner space that a finger could enter to insert an apparatus into women's vagina, a collecting part collecting intravaginal sample and attached outer surface of the closed end of the tube, and a turner preventing the collecting part being contaminated from an outer contaminant; wherein the collecting part collects a sample from the vagina by turning over the tube inside out so that collecting part may place inside of the tube.
