Simultaneous multiple method out-patient uterus biopsy device and method
A biopsy device, comprising a flexible coaxial structure, comprising an obturator within a sheath, the obturator being adapted to be displaced with respect to the sheath along the coaxial axis by a force applied at a proximal end; a disruptor, at a distal end of the obturator, adapted to disrupt a tissue surface to free cells therefrom, having a first position covered within the sheath and a second position freely extending beyond the sheath; an element, having a fixed position on the obturator, and a close clearance with respect to an inner surface of the sheath, such that a retraction of the obturator within the sheath causes an associated change in pressure in a space between the obturator distal to the element and the sheath, to thereby draw fluid proximate to an end of the sheath within the sheath.
INTRACAVITARY MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS FOR USING SAME
The invention generally relates to intracavitary medical devices and methods for using the devices. In one aspect, the devices comprise: a tube comprising a longitudinal body having opposed proximal and distal ends, and at least three lumens extending there between; and an expandable balloon region located at the distal end of the tube; wherein at least one lumen comprises at least one of: a drainage lumen which opens at a portion of the distal end of the tube and configured to allow fluid communication from a body cavity into the drainage lumen, an inflation lumen connected to an interior of the balloon region and configured to enable passage of a distending fluid to control expansion and contraction of the balloon region, and an instillation lumen which opens at a portion of the distal end of the tube and configured to allow a fluid to be introduced from the instillation lumen into the body cavity.
GYNAECOLOGICAL MODULE AND APPARATUS
A gynecological suction module (1) comprising a hollow rod (20) and a suction chamber (10) connected to the hollow rod by a hole (H) for fluid connection, the aforesaid suction chamber being configured to engage the surface of the vaginal portion of the cervix, the aforesaid suction chamber (10) being delimited by a concave wall W defined by an edge (P) having a C shape and comprising an external portion (P1), an internal portion (P2) and two end portions (P3, P3′), wherein said internal edge P2 is out of the plane defined by said external portion P1.
BODY CAVITY SAMPLE COLLECTION DEVICE
Inventive embodiments disclosed herein include a sampling device. The sampling device includes a tubular main body having a length and defining a lumen, the tubular main body defining a lumen that extends the length of the tubular main body, the tubular main body having a distal end sized for insertion into a body cavity and having a proximal end defining threads; and a flexible sample container, comprising threads for engagement with the tubular main body wherein the lumen of the tubular main body is in communication with the flexible sample container when the container is engaged.
Methods and devices for collecting body fluids
Methods and devices for collection of fluids, including cells and cellular materials, from the uterus. A device having a central tubing member to which, at least, a flexible tubing member and an absorbable member are connected at least at one point. The absorbable member is connected to at least one portion of the central tubing member and to at least one portion of the flexible tubing member. The devices are useful in methods of collection of uterine fluids, including blood, cells and cellular material.
Device for sterile uterine sampling and drug delivery
A device and method for the collection of sterile specimen samples from the uterus is presented. Also presented is a method of delivering nano-encapsulated drugs to the female reproductive tract to treat pelvic inflammatory disease. The device generally is comprised of an outer cannula over which a cover is provided. A sampler may be positioned within the cannula so that when the sampler is advanced through the cannula, the sampler exits an orifice at one end of the cannula and pierces the cover causing it to retract. In use, the device is positioned within the vagina and once correctly positioned, the sampler is advanced thus piercing the cover and allowing an uncontaminated sample to be taken from the uterus or a drug to be delivered directly into the uterus.
Personal cervical cell collection device, kit and method
A cervical cell collection device, kit and method for the collection of cervical cells is provided. In some embodiments, the cervical cell collection device comprises an outer guide assembly having a distal end section with an aperture there through; an inner assembly positioned within the outer guide assembly, the inner assembly having a distal end with a collapsible collection pad secured thereto by a flexible collection support, wherein the inner assembly is movable from a first position where the collection pad is folded inside distal end section of the outer guide assembly to a second position where the collection pad is pushed through the aperture in the distal end of the outer guide assembly where it expands to contact and collect cervical cells.
Method of Obtaining Biological Material via Biological Sampling Device
A method of using a biological sampling device to obtain a biological sample. The device comprises a sheath, an applicator, a collector, and a handle. The method includes inserting a first applicator end into an organism with the device being in a pre-sampling configuration; transitioning the device from the pre-sampling configuration to a sampling configuration; with the device in the sampling configuration, via the handle, moving the collector against biological material within the organism to collect the biological material; transitioning the device from the sampling configuration to a post-sampling configuration; and with the device in the post-sampling configuration, withdrawing the device from within the organism.
EXFOLIATIVE CELL COLLECTION DEVICE FOR UTERUS EXAMINATION
The present invention is a technology relating to a device for collecting exfoliative cells at cervix and its surrounding area for uterus examination. The present invention relates to a technology for providing good usability in collecting exfoliative cells at cervix and its surrounding area corresponding to their current state by dividing a brush for contacting the cervix and its surrounding area into an insertion brush and a tension brush and then letting the shape of the tension brush be gradually changing by user operation. The present invention has an advantage in that the separative rod may be robustly attached to the movable rod until user operation is applied to the push separation member even when the movable rod is sufficiently moved forward since the first latching hook of the movable rod and the second latching hook of the separative rod are hook-latched each other.
Brush biopsy device, kit and method
A biopsy device, comprising a flexible coaxial structure, comprising an obturator within a sheath, the obturator being adapted to be displaced with respect to the sheath along the coaxial axis by a force applied at a proximal end; a disruptor, at a distal end of the obturator, adapted to disrupt a tissue surface to free cells therefrom, having a first position covered within the sheath and a second position freely extending beyond the sheath; an element, having a fixed position on the sheath, configured to limit a depth of insertion of the sheath into a cervix.
