MEDICAL DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS

A medical device includes an operating member, a hub, and an end effector. The operating member includes an actuation portion. The hub includes a channel receiving the actuation portion of the operating member. The actuation portion of the operating member moves within the channel. The end effector is movable between a closed configuration and an open configuration. Distal extension of the operating member transitions the end effector to the open configuration, and proximal retraction of the operating member transitions the end effector to the closed configuration. The medical device is formed through an additive manufacturing process.

Surgical instruments

A surgical instrument is disclosed including a transducer configured to provide vibrations along a longitudinal axis, an end effector operably coupled to the transducer, and a stationary lower jaw extending parallel to the end effector. The end effector extends along the longitudinal axis. The end effector comprises a blade. The stationary lower jaw comprises a clamp face positioned distal to the blade. The end effector is movable relative to the stationary lower jaw to drive the blade distally towards the clamp face. The end effector comprises a hollow lumen. The end effector further comprises at least one member extended across a portion of the hollow lumen.

Self-righting systems and related components and methods

Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface. The self-righting articles described herein may comprise one or more tissue engaging surfaces configured to engage with a surface. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery of the active pharmaceutical agent to a location internal of the subject). In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components.

VARIABLE-LENGTH GUIDE APPARATUS FOR DELIVERY OF A FLEXBILE INSTRUMENT AND METHODS OF USE

Bronchoscope Tip Marker For Orientation Of Radial Endobronchial Ultrasound Probe
20230073109 · 2023-03-09 ·

A radial endobronchial ultrasound system providing localization of visualized lung lesions or nodules in the airways of a patient is provided herein. The system has three, main components: a guide sheath with a distal end, a flexible bronchoscope with a tip, and a radial endobronchial ultrasound probe. The guide sheath directs insertion of the bronchoscope into the patient, with the tip of the bronchoscope extending beyond the distal end of the guide sheath. The bronchoscope has an echogenic discrete marker formed inside and proximate its tip and a working channel configured to include and direct the probe. The probe is configured for insertion into the airways of the patient where the probe rotates to capture a 360-degree circumferential image perpendicular to the probe itself. The echogenic discrete marker on the bronchoscope provides a reference point for localization of the lung lesions or nodules visualized by the image.

ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT TOOL

An endoscope treatment tool includes: a forceps having a first forceps piece and a second forceps piece; and a joint. The second forceps piece includes a forceps cup, a first tooth, a second tooth, a third tooth, a fourth tooth. A length from a tip of the first tooth to a tip of the second tooth in a longitudinal direction defines a first length, a length from the tip of the first tooth to a tip of the third tooth in the longitudinal direction defines a second length, and the first length is shorter than the second length.
