Relay device and ultrasonic-surgical and electrosurgical system
An ultrasonic-surgical and electrosurgical system includes an ultrasonic surgical device and an electrosurgical device which supply an ultrasonic signal and a high-frequency signal, respectively, to an ultrasonic/high-frequency treatment instrument capable of performing an ultrasonic treatment and a high-frequency treatment, and a relay device which is built in one of the devices including: a switch detection unit for detecting turn-on/off of a switch unit which performs on/off control of operations of the devices; a switch element for outputting a switch signal which is used for on/off of outputs of the ultrasonic signal and the high-frequency signal to each of the devices in accordance with the detection output; and a control unit for performing on/off control of the switch signal to control at least one of an output timing and an output mode of each of the signals.
Maintenance feature in magnetic implant
A distraction system includes a distraction rod having one end configured for affixation to at a first location on patient. The system further includes an adjustable portion configured for placement in the patient at a second location, the adjustable portion comprising a housing containing a magnetic assembly comprising a magnet, the magnetic assembly secured to a threaded element that interfaces with an opposing end of the distraction rod. The system includes a magnetically permeable member in proximity to the magnetic assembly and covering an arc of less that 360° of the adjustable portion.
Device for controlling a surgical handpiece
A control device for controlling a surgical handpiece is suitable for controlling the surgical handpiece according to control parameters. The control device comprises local control means present on the control device, wireless communication means suitable for communicating with remote control means by a wireless communication link. The local control means and the wireless communication means is suitable for receiving instructions to adjust each control parameter. Selector means is provided for selecting either the local control means or the wireless communication means for adjusting each control parameter.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR ORGAN RETROPERFUSION ALONG WITH REGIONAL MILD HYPOTHERMIA
A quick-connector for use with an autoretroperfusion and hypothermia system and methods of using the connector. The connector comprises a coolant inlet, a coolant outlet, a coolant reservoir, a blood lumen outlet, a blood lumen inlet, and a blood lumen, whereby the coolant outlet is configured to accept a cooling product from the reservoir, the reservoir is configured to accept cooling product from the coolant inlet. Flowing blood powered by the patient's heart may enter the connector through the blood lumen inlet, travel through the blood lumen while being cooled by cooling product in the reservoir, and leave the connector through the blood lumen outlet. The temperature of blood leaving the connector can be measured at the blood lumen outlet. Catheters can be attached to the blood lumen inlet and blood lumen outlet to receive and send blood, respectively. A cooling system can be attached to the coolant inlet and coolant outlet to provide a source of cooling product.
IMPLANTABLE DEVICES FOR REDUCING PULSATILE PRESSURE WITHIN A BLOOD VESSEL
An implantable device for reducing pulsatile pressure within a blood vessel is described herein, for example to treat pulmonary hypertension. The implantable device may include a fluid reservoir, a compliant member (e.g., a balloon), and a conduit coupled to the fluid reservoir and the compliant member. Advanced designs for anchoring the compliant member in the blood vessel are described. In addition, enhanced reservoir, conduit, and balloon designs, as well as methods for implanting/using the same, are provided.
Surgical instruments comprising a biased shifting mechanism
A surgical instrument comprising a shiftable transmission is disclosed. The transmission comprises a mechanism for assuring that the transmission is in one of a plurality of predefined configurations.
Automated end effector component reloading system for use with a robotic system
A stapling instrument for use with a robotic surgical system comprising a drive system including at least three motor-driven drivers is disclosed. The stapling instrument comprises a housing, a shaft, an articulation joint, and a loading unit. The housing comprises a drive interface defined on an exterior surface of the housing. The drive interface is operably engageable with the drive system of the robotic system. The drive interface comprises at least three rotatable inputs positioned thereon. Each input is operably engaged with one of the motor-driven drivers. The loading unit comprises a first jaw, a second jaw, a staple cartridge, and a drive member. The first jaw and the second jaw are rotatable about the articulation joint by a longitudinally-displaceable articulation actuator. The housing comprises means for converting the rotation of one of the rotatable inputs to the longitudinal motion of the articulation actuator.
METHOD FOR BONE ADJUSTMENT WITH ANCHORING FUNCTION
A method and a device for bone adjustment in a mammal is presented, wherein a device is implanted in the medullar cavity of a bone in the body of said mammal, said device being a device exerting a force to anchoring devices anchored in said bone. The method and device has utility in therapeutic and cosmetic bone adjustments, including the lengthening, reshaping and realigning of bones, for example in the correction of congenital deformations, restorative orthopaedic surgery and the like.
MULTI-PANEL GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE FOR A ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEM
A method for a robotic surgical system includes displaying a graphical user interface on a display to a user, wherein the graphical user interface includes a plurality of reconfigurable display panels, receiving a user input at one or more user input devices, wherein the user input indicates a selection of at least one software application relating to the robotic surgical system, and rendering content from the at least one selected software application among the plurality of reconfigurable display panels.
