LITHOTRIPSY DEVICE FOR TUNNELING THROUGH VASCULAR OCCLUSIONS
A lithotripsy device for tunneling through vascular occlusions comprises a tunneling catheter including a tunneling catheter shaft having a distal end and a proximal end. A tunneling probe is disposed on the distal end of the tunneling catheter shaft. The tunneling probe has a pair of electrodes; each electrode being operatively connected to an electrical lead within the tunneling catheter shaft. The leads are configured for operative connection to an external pulse generator. Activation of an external pulse generator operatively connected to the leads causes repeated electrical discharges between the electrodes. When the electrodes are an in a fluid, the repeated electrical discharges produce repeated hydraulic shock waves in the fluid directed away from the electrical discharges. When the repeated hydraulic shock waves strike calcified tissue, the calcified tissue is broken into a modified plaque. The modified plaque has a lower resistance to mechanical dislocation that the original calcified tissue.
ARTICULATING TOOL FOR ENDOSCOPIC PLACEMENT OF FASTENERS
Various articulating tools for endoscopic placement of fasteners are disclosed. The tool can comprise a multi-angle articulating screwdriver. The tool can have an elongate shaft with an articulating driver head at a distal end. The tool can rotate the articulating driver head to drive fasteners, such as screws, to a surgical site. The articulating driver head can articulate with respect to a longitudinal axis of the elongate shaft to enable the fastener to be driven at various angle. The tool can be coupled to a powered handpiece power and can transmit torque from the handpiece to the driver head.
SURGICAL SYSTEM
Provided is a surgical system that can realize simplification of a structure of a storage case, miniaturization, and cost reduction.
The surgical system includes an overtube, a sheathing tube, a syringe, a tube, an inner needle, and a storage case that has individual storage parts for individually storing the overtube, the sheathing tube, the syringe, the tube, and the inner needle, respectively. The storage case fixes a first instrument, which is any one of the overtube, the sheathing tube, the syringe, the tube, or the inner needle, to the individual storage part corresponding to the first instrument by using at least one of second instruments which are other instruments stored in the individual storage parts.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION DEVICE
A specimen collection device and a method of using the specimen collection device are disclosed herein. In some aspects, the specimen collection device allows for the individual collection of specimens via a removable specimen tray that can easily be swapped during a procedure. The specimen collection device includes a flexible sealing element for the continual use of suction during the procedure even when the specimen tray is not inserted.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING IMPLANTATION OF FERTILIZED EGG DURING PREGNANCY
The disclosed invention comprises a device that utilizes a manually controlled articulating arm to make a precise, small abrasion on the intrauterine wall prior to ovulation. The preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a handle, an arm having a rigid portion and an articulating tip both of which are covered by a casing having non-irritant properties, wherein the handle is connected to the arm by a connection member that contains a trigger mechanism operable to move the articulating tip by pulling a trigger.
WIDE HEMOSTASIS CLIP
A device for treating tissue includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough, the capsule releasably coupled to a proximal portion of the device and clip jaws, proximal ends of which are slidably received within the channel of the capsule so that the clip jaws are movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. Clip jaws are configured so that a distance between the distal ends of the clip jaws in an open configuration is between 15 and 18 millimeters. Clip jaws further include barbs extending from a distal portion thereof.
Meniscal probe cutter
Instruments and methods that allow for a minimally invasive way to probe, locate, and cut a meniscus during a meniscectomy procedure. The instrument is a single hybrid probe/cutter instrument provided with both probing and cutting means that allow probing and cutting of the meniscus with the same hybrid instrument. A minimally invasive technique for probing and cutting (resecting) a torn area of a meniscus by employing the single, hybrid probing/cutting instrument is also provided. The technique provides a consistently good-quality meniscus with improved cosmetic results, and is simple and easily reproducible, strong, and time-saving for meniscal repairs.
Minimally Invasive Shoulder Implant and Method
A method of implanting a prosthetic stemless shoulder implant may include making an incision into a patient's shoulder area of a patient and passing a cutting instrument through a rotator cuff interval of the patient. A central portion of the native humeral head may be resected and removed so that a central void remains. The same or another cutting instrument may be inserted through the rotator cuff interval and into the central void. Medial and lateral portions of the native humeral head adjacent the central void may be resected and removed. A base of a prosthesis may be implanted into a proximal portion of the humerus after passing the base through the rotator cuff interval, and two humeral head portions may be inserted through the rotator cuff interval and coupled to the base and to one another.
Tissue shavers
Various arthroscopic shavers are provided that minimize contact between bodily fluid and the shaver hand piece. Arthroscopic shavers generally include a cutting assembly mated to a hand piece. In one embodiment, the shaver includes a hub that connects the cutting assembly with the hand piece and has an exit port configured to transport cut tissue and fluid from the device. In another embodiment, the shaver includes a hub configured to retrofit existing shaver hand pieces having interior lumens for removing cut tissue and fluid. The hub further includes an exit port that diverts fluid away from the hand piece.
Guiding apparatus for minimally invasive pedicle screws insertion
A guiding apparatus for pedicle screws insertion, including: two orientation rods, used to be fixed on a bone to provide two non-parallel rod bodies; an orientation board, having a first orientation tube, a second orientation tube, a lengthy lateral opening, and a plurality of sleeve combinations, the second orientation tube having a vertical opening connected with the lengthy lateral opening, so that when one rod body of the two non-parallel rod bodies passes through the first orientation tube, the other rod body of the two non-parallel rod bodies will move through the lengthy lateral opening and enter the second orientation tube via the vertical opening; and a plurality of metal pins, used to be inserted into the bone through the plurality of sleeve combinations, and guide a plurality of pedicle screws to be screwed into the bone after inner sleeves of the sleeve combinations are removed.
