MAGNET-ASSISTED SUTURE GRASPER COMPRISING A SUTURE RETRIEVAL NEEDLE, A RETRIEVER BODY, A GRASPER WIRE, A GRASPER ARM, AND A GRASPER MAGNET
A magnet-assisted suture grasper for grasping a magnetic suture is provided. The magnet-assisted suture grasper includes a suture retrieval needle, a retriever body, a grasper wire, a grasper arm, and a grasper magnet. Translation of the retriever body within a needle lumen of the suture retrieval needle in a first direction causes the grasper arm to move from a first position to a second position, thereby exposing the grasper magnet from the needle lumen and allowing contact between the grasper magnet and a magnetic suture attracted thereto. Translation of the retriever body within the needle lumen in a second direction opposite the first direction causes the grasper arm to move from the second position to the first position, thereby sequestering the grasper magnet and grasping the magnetic suture within the needle lumen.
NEEDLE AND CANNULA ASSEMBLY FOR CANNULATION AND TREATMENT OF SUBCUTANEOUS VESSELS
A cannula assembly for treating a puncture site in a subcutaneous vessel includes a cannula and an elongated sleeve with a bore for receiving the cannula. The elongated sleeve includes a plurality of channels circumferentially spaced about the bore through which at least one of a flow of air can be drawn and a plurality of wires can be advanced to promote the formation of a seal between the elongated sleeve and the subcutaneous vessel around the puncture site. The cannula assembly can further include a plug which can be inserted into the bore of the elongated sleeve following removal of the cannula. A needle for insertion into the subcutaneous vessel includes a rigid shaft with an enlarged segment connected to a hub. The needle and cannula assembly can be utilized in a method for cannulating the subcutaneous vessel.
SUTURE APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A suture apparatus having a housing, actuator and capture rod, the actuator being engaged to the capture rod to form an actuator-capture rod assembly, an elongated cannula shaft having a lumen that extends through the shaft, and capture rod retraction means, the housing including an internal region that is configured to receive and support the capture rod retraction means, actuator proximal end and actuator rod distal end therein, wherein said capture rod retraction means is in communication with said actuator. The actuator-capture rod assembly and capture rod retraction means being positioned and configured to transition from a retracted position to an extended position when an actuation force is applied to the actuator and return the retracted position by the retraction means when the actuation force is released.
EDGE TO EDGE REPAIR OF THE MITRAL VALVE
The present invention describes systems and methods for treating mitral valve regurgitation. The treatment includes a systems and method of modifying the mitral valve by attaching a device to each leaflet and pulling them toward each other to stop mitral valve regurgitation.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR MOVING TISSUE WITHIN A BODY
In general, devices, systems, and methods for relocating tissue during surgeries are provided. In one embodiment, a surgical apparatus is provided that includes a needle, a hook movably disposed in the needle, an actuator, and a slidable member. The needle can be percutaneously advanced through skin of a patient. The actuator can move the hook between two orientations, one being disposed entirely within the needle and another extending from the needle. The slidable member can slide along the needle and abut an exterior surface of the skin of the patient through which the needle is advanced. In use, the hook can engage tissue within the body of the patient when the hook extends from the needle. The surgical apparatus can then move the engaged tissue within the body of the patient, and the engaged tissue can be locked in position relative to the skin.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR ENDOSCOPE OR LAPAROSCOPIC MAGNETIC NAVIGATION
The invention provides systems, devices, and methods for the delivery, deployment, and positioning of magnetic compression devices at a desired site so as to improve the accuracy of anastomoses creation between tissues, organs, or the like.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE TISSUE SUPPORT
Described are methods and apparatus for use in supporting tissue in a patient's body. In some embodiments, the patient's breast is supported. In some embodiments, the methods provide ways of supporting and adjusting tissue, and the apparatus includes components and embodiments for supporting and adjusting the tissue. Some embodiments include a supporting device, having a first portion, a second portion, and a support member positioned between the first portion and second portion. Some embodiments include advancing the first portion of the supporting device into the body to a first location in the body; advancing the second portion of the supporting device into the body to a second location in the body; securing the first portion of the supporting device at the first location; and shifting soft tissue in the body with the support member.
INVERTING THROMBECTOMY APPARATUSES AND METHODS
Rolling tractor tube mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses that may be deployed from out of a catheter in situ are described herein. These apparatuses may be delivered out of a catheter from a collapsed delivery configuration within the catheter to a deployed configuration out of the catheter, in which the same catheter is re-inserted between a tubular tractor and an elongate puller. In particular, any of these methods and apparatuses may be adapted to work with a tractor tube having an open end that is biased open, including using an annular bias.
Suture Passer Needle
This invention relates to surgical suturing devices and methods by which suture may be passed through tissue during surgery, and, more particularly, to an improved blade of a suture passer needle. The suture passer needle includes a first side, a second side, and a blade disposed at an end of the needle. The blade has a first edge extending from the first side of the needle and a second edge extending from the second side of the needle, which converge to a tip of the blade. A notch is disposed in the blade and forms an opening in the first side of the blade. The blade also has one or more cutout portions distal and/or proximal the notch, which minimize the stress and strain placed on the blade. The suture passer needle can be incorporated into surgical suturing devices or suture passer devices to pass suture through a tissue body.
KNOT-TYING DEVICE FOR SURGICAL SUTURES
A knot tying device including a sheath configured for placement over a surgical instrument. The sheath includes a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The distal end portion is elastically reconfigurable between a straightened configuration and a hook shaped configuration. Position of the sheath on the surgical instrument is adjustable between an extended position in which the sheath extends beyond a distal tip of the surgical instrument and a retracted position in which the sheath is pulled back from the distal tip of the surgical instrument. The distal end portion is in the hook shaped configuration when the sheath is in the extended position and the distal end portion is in the straightened configuration when the sheath is in the retracted position.
