Methods and devices for vein harvesting
11571193 · 2023-02-07 · ·

A vein harvesting device is disclosed. The vein harvesting device includes a handle assembly, at least one elongated portion, first and second end effectors, and a tip. Each end effector is disposed adjacent a distal portion of the at least one elongated portion. Each end effector includes a first jaw member and a second jaw member, and at least one jaw member is movable toward the other jaw member. The tip is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the elongated portion. A distal end of the tip extends distally beyond a distal-most end of the first end effector. The first end effector is movable independently of the tip, and the second end effector is movable independently of the tip.

Myringotomy tool with multiple tool heads

A myringotomy device includes a housing; an elongated tube extending from the housing; and a retractable cutting tool extendable through the elongated tube, the cutting tool comprising a blade. The cutting tool is configured such that when advanced, the blade of the cutting tool extends beyond a distal end of the elongated tube. The cutting tool is also configured such that when retracted, the blade is retracted into the elongated tube and a fluid conduit is created from the distal end of the elongated tube to the housing.

Combinational scissor-grasper tool for use in laparoscopy

Disclosed is a four-jawed combinational scissor-grasper surgical tool for use in laparoscopy. Cutting and grasping functionalities are respectively enabled via movement of a pair of such specially contoured jaw members sliding against or splaying apart from the other pair. Also disclosed are means for achieving selectable interlocking of jaw members and mechanical linkage for their actuation by human user.

A circumcision apparatus is provided. The circumcision apparatus includes a first surgical scissors and a second surgical scissors. The first surgical scissors include two first clips and one pair of blades, and the second surgical scissors include one second clip and one pair of blades. In the circumcision operation, after the foreskin is cut by the first surgical scissors along the direction of the shaft of the penis, the two first clips clamp a part of the foreskin near a first incision. After the foreskin is cut further by the second surgical scissors along the circumference of the penis, the second clip clamps another part of the foreskin near a second incision. Therefore, bleeding from the first and second incisions can be effectively reduced.

DEVICE FOR TISSUE REMOVAL

A medical device that comprises a rim defining a loop in a plane and defining a width measured perpendicular to the plane, at least one wire coupled to a distal end of the rim and extending proximally from the distal end out of the plane to a proximal end of the rim, the at least one wire having a cross-sectional dimension measured perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the at least one wire, the cross-sectional dimension being smaller than the width of the rim, and a sheath configured to cover at least a portion of the rim and a portion of the at least one ware.

A surgical instrument, and methods for its use, is described that includes clamp heads that can be nestled within or extended from a tubular sheath by longitudinal movement of the clamp heads' tines with respect to the tubular sheath. One of the tines includes an arch that slides against a mouth and inside wall of the tubular sheath, causing the clamp heads to open or close. The clamp heads close lightly, to within a predetermined (or zero) distance from one another, gently grasp an ultrathin polymer substrate seeded with cells, and pulls it within the sheath such that the substrate curls and folds to protect the cells.

ONE-HANDED AND DOUBLE ROW METHODS FOR TISSUE FIXATION

Described herein is a simplified placement system and method for a tissue graft anchor by which a surgeon may introduce one or more sutures into a hole in a boney tissue, apply a precise amount of tension to the sutures to advance a soft tissue graft to a desired location, and then advance the anchor into the bone, preferably while maintaining the requisite pre-determined suture tension and without introducing spin to the suture. Particularly preferred embodiments allow for the one-handed operation, namely embodiments in which relative axial movement between the inner tensioning device and outer driver device is optionally physically constrained, for example by means of cooperating and/or compressive elements disposed in the respective hub and handle portions, are described herein. Other preferred embodiments of the present invention relate to multi-anchor constructs that may employ threaded implants exclusively, push-in implants exclusively, or a combination of threaded and push-in implants.

ANVIL ASSEMBLIES WITH COLLAPSIBLE FRAMES FOR CIRCULAR STAPLERS

Circular stapling instruments and anvil assemblies. The anvil assemblies may have collapsible anvil support members that may be inserted through an opening in a patient and then expanded to be attached to an anvil plate assembly that has a staple-forming surface thereon. The anvil support member is attachable to the anvil plate assembly in such a way that when the anvil assembly is coupled to the stapling head of a circular stapler, the staple-forming surface is in substantial registry with the staples supported in the stapling head. A variety of different anvil support members and anvil plate assemblies are disclosed.
